“What a gem, Going to stay there again this Summer!”

Went last year with my boyfriend and two other friends, Stayed in the mini-suite. Have nothing but good things to say about this place...The character they pack into this place is unbelievable. The guests and staff were interesting and friendly. Felt safe walking after dark in this neighborhood. The room was small, but suited our needs just fine. Breakfast on the covered patio in the courtyard was a great way to start the day :)
We also had no problems at all with parking.

Looking forward to going back!

“Never Ever Again!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

This place is dirty. The bathroom is just beyond words. No ceiling. We were able to hear everything that was going on in the upstairs room. It would be best if they shot it down. We found old cheese and cockroaches. Breakfast was outside and not really good. The second morning we had to ask for staff and got an unfriendly answer. It's a rip off and not worth the price. It's absolutely ridiculous. None of us really slept and it made the stay in New Orleans almost unbearable.

Dear Group,
We take all complaints very seriously, and wish you would have given us a chance to rectify the problem when it happened and not after the fact. I myself checked you in on Friday and the Manager of Olde Town Inn (Ginger) worked 7-3 Saturday morning. We have 25 rooms and suites and could have moved you to another. Olde Town Inn was built in the 1880's and therefore is hard to heat because of no insulation in some of the walls, and the unseasonable cool snap. The Complimentary Continental breakfast is served on our beautiful covered patio, and I am a little perplexed about because it is always set up from 7-10 daily. We have a log for every shift that works the office, I didn't notice any other complaints, I did notice that there was a storm coming in on Sunday and everyone was up early and had checked out by 9 AM. Perhaps it was set up but just needed to be restocked?
We have taken that suite offline, and have begun renovations, to be completed by Feb 1, 2010. Double insulation on the ceiling and then sheetrock to solve the problem of noise from the room above and to cover the exposed beams. We also have ripped out the floor and are planning slate tile floors.
Again, I apologize and we pride ourself on being friendly and helpful to all of our guests.

I refunded 1 night @ 149.95 + tax = $170.44
Sincerely,

Kurt

“BEST IN SHOW”

Myself and a group went down for Halloween this year. When we got to Olde Town Inn we were blown away by the service and the hospitality of the staff. Ginger worked with us up until the day we arrived to make our stay perfect. We were a 5 minute walk to Frenchman Street and 7 minutes from the French Quarter. We stayed out till 3 am at the Casino and walked home with no worries. I will always stay here when I go back to NOLA. You get the comforts of home and tons of room to spread out. We stayed in the Shot Gun Suite and loved it.

“Perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

My husband and I travelled to New Orleans with another couple. We were looking for a hotel that was near The French Quarter and Bourbon Street, Economical, and Not a "traditional" hotel. We thought we would have to sacrifice on at least one of these three. However, The Olde Towne Inn exceeded all of our desires. The rooms were quaintly personalized, the courtyard provided endless amusement, and the breakfast (although simple coffee and pastries) was fresh and delicious. In response to the reviews discussions about noise, we had no problems at all. We stayed in the middle rooms (across from the vending machines), next door to each other and a couple of doors down from a couple with a young child. We experienced no issues with outside noises. The staff and accomodations made an already memorable vacation even more so and we are already looking forward to our next stay!

“These rude people have a lot of nerve, room was a dump, we got no sleep, bed terrible, leaking sink dripped all night”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

We travel a lot. We like charming funky offbeat places. But the crude folks who run it were uncivil enough not to warn us when we reserved that our room shared a paper thin wall with a cavernous concrete outdoor dining area which at 7:00 A M became the inn's social hub as all the guests gathered over free breakfast to laugh over their adventures...the food prep surface was inches from our weary heads. We were already worn out from a sleepless night spent listening to the leaky sink they admitted later was scheduled for repair the day after we left. The pitifully worn out bed would not support both of us so we had to sleep in separate beds! Bathroom had no exhaust fan and its non-sealing doors (obviously designed for a closet) could not be pulled closed from outside the bathroom!
When the front desk refused to consider any kind of a refund, we asked for the owner to call us....four days have passed. When I called back trying to get a response the front desk clerk called me an " _ _ _hole." Nice. We are calling visa to get the charges backed off.
These people are jerks. The place looks cute. BUT, our room was unusable. Falling apart, warped wobbling floors with moldy smelling carpet. Buyer Beware!
