“Delightful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Staying in this hotel, was such a pleasant change from the usual cookie cutter hotels. It did not have all the usual extras....fridge,room safe......but it had character, and the bedding and furnishings were of superior quality.
The staff were the best we have ever experienced, coming to our room, when the tour plans we booked with them were unavailable ,with new suggestions. Also they were most helpful with the safety deposit boxes ,for our money and passports.Nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is in a quiet part of town, but within walking distance to the old town, the trolleys ($3.00 for an all day ticket) ,the casino and the river front. The internet worked all the time for us,and was very fast.A/C worked perfectly.

I just returned from New Orleans. We had read reviews - some negative - before we went.
Our experience could not have been better. The front desk staff went above and beyond to be helpful. We would definitely stay again.

“Great but......”

The staff was very nice and as former resident of New Orleans the transformation of the old Whitney Bank building into a hotel was a stoke of genius. Great location to the Quarter and Uptown. The only problem was over a 3 day stay the internet only worked one evening. And since the hotel uses Cox as their provider there was no way to get help. Each time I told the front desk they said it would be taken care of but it never was. As I needed to connect to my office each night, this problem would make me most probably not stay there again. And this is the only reason I can only give service an average rating - if not for that it would be excellent.

Thank you for your comments and please accept my apologies for the internet outage. Thanks to these TripAdvisor comments, we recently switched our internet service from a hard wired, paid service ($10.00 a day) to free Wi-Fi for all guests. Unfortunately, with any major system change, some growing pains can be expected. Although, in all honesty, I took that to mean decreased speed during high demand times, not a complete outage over a day or so. The provider has remedied the problem, by matching the correct routers throughout the hotel. Again, please accept my apologies and I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of your visit to our hotel and city! We sincerely hope to see you again!

“Spacious Room and close to French Quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I love the idea of reusing the old and making them "NEW" again. It was interesting to still see the aspects of the bank building throughout. The room was so big and comfy. I had to take a hike to get to the bathroom the suite was huge! I loved it. I enjoyed being able to walk over and enjoy the Nawlin's answer to Starbucks.. Community Coffee Kios next door. The staff at the hotel were accomidating to everything I asked for. You can jump on the trolley if you didn't want to walk to the Quarter as well as other parts of the city no less than $3.00 round trip. It's close enough to enjoy the French Quarter, but far away enough to get some rest and away from the noise. The price was excellent !!!

Room Tip: Call directly to Wyndham to get the king size suites compare to the on-line places.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The Hotel was excellent, clean, and quiet as others have said. And yes, the location is very good. What set this experience apart for me, was the service offered by the General Manager. While I requested 2 beds through Hotels.com, they cannot guarantee the request. The hotel happened to be totally booked for this type room during part of my week long stay. Instead of restricting me to the available rooms, the General Manager himself, Casey, took the time to go through their reservations room-by-room to find a way to accommodate my request / need for a room with 2 beds rather than a suite with a sleeper couch. I was impressed and grateful. This turned my initial disappointment into complete satisfaction. I will definitely make this hotel my first choice for my next trip to NOLA.

It's our pleasure to serve and to make sure you're happy with your stay. Thank you for the kind words and for the opportunity to host your visit. I thank you for your patience during the checkin process, I used it an opportunity to train the Desk Agent in searching for the right room type to accommodate your needs. They have the same freedoms I do when it comes to satisfying your requests... and this was a perfect opportunity to teach that. I hope to see you again soon!
