Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of December (including New Year's Eve) as part of a pre-arranged tour. The hotel's located right on the edge of the French Quarter on North Rampart Street. There's parking right next to the hotel which looks pretty secure too. Check-in was pretty fast - we could only find one lift (elevator), there might've been more but with only 3 floors it isn't a great loss. The hotel's arranged around a courtyard with the pool in the middle - wasn't too inviting in mid December but imagine in summer it'd be great. My room was on the outward facing side (didn't face the pool) and even though there was building work going on next door, I didn't hear anything.
The rooms aren't huge - I had a twin (2 x doubles) and found it a squeeze to get my big suitcase in and others in the group who did share found it a bit tight - with the location though, it's doubtful you're gonna spend much time in your room though! There was a fridge, good sized tv and the beds were pretty comfy. The air con was great, worked quickly and was relatively quiet. There's a small wardrobe, a separate sink, then the bathroom has the toilet and quite a big shower, which had plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was great - there were waffles, toast, muffins, burgers, scrambled egg, cereal, yoghurt, juices and tea & coffee. Getting a table can be difficult depending on what time you head down. Didn't use the hotel bar but they were friendly and lent us a bottle opener for our own drinks on New Year's Eve - worth mentioning at this point that despite the time of year we stayed, the hotel was quiet as it's far enough away from Bourbon St that you can't hear the music but close enough that it's only a short walk away. We used a laundrette just down the street to wash our clothes that was cheap and convenient.
The staff were also friendly - housekeeping did come back after knocking before I left one morning - they don't always do that in other places. Also had an incident where my room key stopped working just before check out but reception quickly gave me a new key so this wasn't a problem at all.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place and will use again when I return to New Orleans - it's in a great location to see the French Quarter and has good facilities and friendly staff.
