“Room 1”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The location is really good. Easy walking distance to anything in the French Quarter. The room left a lot to be disired, though. The floor was dirty and sticky. The bath room was also in need of a lot of work. Only 4 electrical outlets all next to the air conditioner (which had mold growth in it). No outlets in the bathroom. The bed was way overdue to be replaced. No more spring left in it and hard as a stone. We had friends staying in other rooms that were better, but stay away from number 1 and number 15.
The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Bill would usually show up for the nightly wine and cheese offering and would help to introduce everyone. He made several good suggestions for places to eat and things to see.

The hot tub leaves something to be desired, While it may be clean, its old and just doesn't look very good.

Room Tip: 7-11 seemed like better rooms.

“Excellent location, terrible bed and very dirty room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights ($300 for two nights so reasonable). The location is awesome, it is nearby everything the French quarter has to offer. We stayed in Room 1, which was the one closest to the hot tub (which we didn't use--it looked dirty). The bed in this room was awful. It is probably 20 years old and when you lay in it, you sink to the middle. The room was very dirty overall. We had a bathtub in the room and there was a visible ring around it. I don't think anything had been cleaned. We won't be staying here again.

“We loved it!”

Anyone who rates this bed and breakfast with 1 star needs to be sure they only stay in chain hotels from now on. We stayed in room 14 and we will go back but will choose another room next to the courtyard since our friends stayed there as well and we wanted to all be closer to each other. The Ursuline House is 180 years old and of course it looks it in some respects but at the same time it is quite charming. Bill the owner is a super nice guy and so is his manager. She was very helpful with anything that we needed. Ladybug was a very good hostess as well. She was constantly checking in on us as we sat in the courtyard. I absolutely loved the courtyard! We stayed there with 7 of our friends and they were in rooms 7,8 and 6B. Yes 6B would probably get the award for smallest room to rent in NOLA however it is only $59 a night so stop complaining. The one guy that did stay in it was former military and he was happy as a clam to be in NOLA with his friends. I highly recommend Ursuline House!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the courtyard unless you want quick access to the street. If so choose room 14.

“DIRTY - BED BUGS - STAY AWAY!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Dont ever believe that the pictures on the web site is telling you how dirty and bad this place really is. It was a total disappointment and many of the other guests we spoke to had the same opinion. We stayed in what we from their pictures on the web "could see" was their "most beautiful" and expensive room. The water did not run out from the sink, the floors were dirty and there was bugs in the beds. The so called breakfast was some old bread and some marmelade that you had to find yourself in the dirty frigde. The place is runned by three men. The "cleaner" was totally uninterested in his job, the clerk was ok, but he and especially the owner were alcoholics (the owner was drunk out of his mind for the three nights we stayed there). When we payd him 450 $ for the three nights he just put the banknotes in his pocket and gave us no receipt. The only reason why they give the guests some wine in the evening is that it gives them a chance to drink more. If you enjoy staying in this place you hace to be drunk all the time.
