“Booked through RCI, and would do again.”

Here are the great things, here are the bad things:
1. GOOD- Location! Close to everything in the French Quarter.
2. GOOD- Clean. Nice place.
3. GOOD- Parking. In the french quarter, parking is a premium, and to stay at a place with it's own parking garage is a huge plus. We never had an issue getting parking.
4. GOOD- Transportation- you can walk the entire French Quarter OR the streetcar stop is right next door if you want to go to other parts of the city.
5. BAD- Size. Since we booked through RCI, the room was probably the smallest they had. But not the end of the world.
6. BAD- Noise. We're not big up-all-night people, so the music at the club next door was not good for sleep. Plus there were rattling air ducts and stuff like that in the room. If the club has hip-hop, be ready for a long night of bass bass bass and your earplugs don't block bass.
7. NEUTRAL- the staff was relatively friendly, and the amenities were okay. There's a pool but you probably won't use it, because it's a also a fountain and seems better for kids. A computer in the lobby with internet, and some books and plenty of maps.

“gotta vacation here- what a blast”

Super location in the French Quarter just steps to the streetcar and French Market as well as Frenchmen street which was awesome for the free music in the bars-no cover charge. We stayed here in dec 2011 and were really pleased with suite, nice sized living room, good kitchen equipment, friendly staff. Walked all over the place and felt really safe. bourbon street was an easy walk away too.Great restaurants close by such as Acme Oyster bar-never saw such large oysters, Bubba Gumps was great too. Make sure you buy some beignet mix to bring home with you, easy to make and delicious.

Room Tip: they all seemed great and were really quiet in the bedroom. Some face the courtyard which would be f...

“Big Easy was a bit squeezy.”

Very nice little hotel with friendly staff, in the perfect location at the end of the streetcar line, and looking over the Mississippi from our bedroom albeit lying on the bed to see out. Had to walk sideways to get around the tres bijou apartment but enjoyed the stay. When we checked out we were told that we could have changed rooms! C'est la vie! Great city though with lots to see and do, and great food, nice people and free music everywhere.

Room Tip: Change immediately as they probably have a better one.

“you wanna be HERE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

The best part about this hotel is that
1. it is across the street from the street car system, which travels all over!
2. You can easily walk (or ride the street car)to world famous Café du Monde for a breakfast of hot beinets & coffee OR walk one block down Decateur Street for a fantastic breakfast at
"Envie".
3. Great music/club scene on Frenchman street, right next to Hotel de la Monnaie, so you don't have to walk far to get home if you want to stay out late listening to live jazz. Check out upstairs at Snug Harbor or Spotted Cat or BMC, all on Frenchman Street.

After the first shower, we noticed that our tub was clogged up. As soon as we called front desk to report the problem, a maintenance man was up and fixed it. The two bedroom unit was clean, with a comfortable sitting room. Master bedroom was nice, with large closet & bureau for storage. The second bedroom was really tiny, no windows. Storage closet was outside the room, Bed not so great, pillows not so great. If you can, bring your own pillows. The furniture was a bit shabby and mismatched but we were not there for the decor!! Yellow walls in the unit were cheerful, and the art on the walls was all on New Orleans events which I liked. Our favorite thing was the deep whirlpool bathtub ! We took fantastic bubble baths with the jacuzzi jets humming every night. There was a plaque on the bathtub wall warning us that the hot water tank held 30 gallons only. There were 4 adults in our party, and we never ran out of hot water. We just were careful not to take 4 showers in a row. We staggered our use. The deep compfy bathtub filled right to the top with hot water.
The important thing is that all of the wonders & delights of the French Quarter are so close by:) We could go anywhere from Hotel de la Monnaie easily. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Room Tip: Room 412 has a faint sound of music all night long, as its window faces Frenchman Street, and the cl...

“Best deal in the French Quarter.”

I and my five friends had a wonderful time at this hotel for three nights/four days in June 2011. We stayed in one of the two-bedroom suites and it was perfect--a good size for all six of us, plus a nice bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, and the best part is that we weren't charged for extra people, which was really nice for us since we were on a budget. And also, the price was REALLY fantastic, and I know that I'll stay there next time, without a doubt. Definitely a wonderful stay and an absolutely beautiful hotel. Great location, super easy to walk all around the French Quarter.
