“A gem in a perfect location”

You know you are home when you are greeted by a warm, caring staff. The bell men, car hops, front desk hosts and housekeeping people make it a point to remember your name and help you make your New Orleans visit a memorable one. Spacious, well equipped rooms, a spotless gym, sauna, hot tub and outdoor soaking pool help you relax after a great day of sightseeing. You are only a few short blocks away from the exciting French Quarter as well as River Walk, Harrah's Casino and a street car to take you to the beautiful garden district. Right across the street is The Ruby Slipper Cafe' a great Brunch Place!

“Perfect NOLA Getaway Spot”

Excellent location just a block off Canal near the French Quarter and waterfront. Unit was spacious, clean and beautifully furnished; we had a separate bedroom, one bath, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee pot ... but no stove. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You don't need a car if you're staying right in the city - walk to the French Quarter, terrific restaurants, the Riverwalk, Harrahs; take trolleys or free shuttles to some of the other venues. If you do have a car, parking is valet only $26/day but you can go in and out at will. I highly recommend La Belle Maison.

“Perfect location, great amenities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This place is great - HUGE rooms (700+ square feet, as big as our apartment in Boston), fully equipped with kitchen amenities, laundry in the building for free, a small pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and a full gym. Perfectly located within walking distance of the French Quarter (but not in the madness) and all the street cars and the river.

We did an exchange with a timeshare, so I'm not sure how you book this hotel (or if you can) if you don't have a timeshare program, but it's well worth looking into. Completely a home-away-from-home and so much fun to stay in.

“Great hotel, great location”

From the moment we walked into La Belle Maison we knew we were in the right place. The locations just perfect, a coupe of short blocks from the French Quarter, a block from the casino, and right by both the Canal Street and Garden District trolleys. We were told that the rooms were not large, so were surprised tht the one bedroom unit had a good sized sitting room and a nice separate bedroom -- certainly big enough for four. The kitchenette has a fridge and microwave, which is sufficient for a place that is famous for its cuisine. We will definitely return.

“Great for families with small children!”

We just got back from NOLA for a long weekend and had a blast. My husband and 2 kids(7&6yo) and I had never visited before and I was a little nervous of going at all, let alone with kids just from stories I've heard. But it was worry for nothing because we loved it and can't wait to get back! The hotel is more like condos and we had a huge room-separate bedroom with king bed and the living area had a pull-out sofa for the kids--they're still young enough they don't mind doubling up, esp. in a strange place. Everything was very clean and the decor very tasteful and updated. We had no windows but the ones that look into the hallway but that didn't bother us. The kitchen was perfect for breakfast so we didn't have to go out for every meal. The Everything Store is right across the street and had basics like milk and coffee(bought some cafe du monde coffee for the room-they do provide little packets for you though) as well as a few souvenirs there. The best thing for me was the free laundry facilities on the 6th floor-I don't know how we go thru so many clothes but we do. I think the room was like 187 a nite-which i thought was a great bargain for what is basically a suite. We rented a car, which we needed since we spent a lot of the time at the fairgrounds horse race course, and valey was very nice. For dinner we just walked a few blocks into the french quarter(it's only 3 or 4 blocks to bourbon street and there are people everywhere.) Even though you're right in the middle of it all, the hotel was very quiet-even on new years eve we were in bed by 11 and slept til morning. No restaurant or bar in the hotel but not a big deal. The pool is tiny but the kids loved it. The workout room was nice and spacious-has a sauna and whirlpool also. I went jogging in the am's and felt pretty safe-there was one incident with a homeless man but it was fine--the river is just a couple of blocks down canal street(which you are basically right on) as is the big casino Harrah's. Our favorite restaurant was called jimmy j's-the girl at night makes the best hurricanes EVER. I always thought they were just that kool-aid crap but now I've seen the light. Their food was the best we had on our trip as far as non-fancy. The shrimp po-boy(which i never thought i'd like) was the best I had on the trip and I was getting them everywhere. We had dinner on new year's eve at Muriel's on Jackson Square-with the kids:) and it was the quintesscential new orleans restaurant-service was excellent and the food was delicious. they even had kid's menus, but it's definitely not a kid-type place. If you go to the racetrack then Luizza's is a great local diner type spot for lunch. We did a swamp tour with cajun pride-the boat capt. tom was really great-the shuttle ride there took forever and our guide was very nice but i would drive myself to the "swamp" next time--it was only 20 m inutes away. But the kids liked the boat ride and they did get to hold a baby alligator so they were thrilled.
