We spent four days in New Orleans and booked this hotel via Hotwire (so only got the name once we had booked). Although it wasd comfortable and clean, with a good continental breakfast, there were some faults that I should point out.
Firstly, the location. If you are preferring to stay nearer the French Quarter and the main action of the city, this probably isn't the best hotel for you. To walk to the French Quarter is about an hour, although saying this, there is a street car stop right outside the hotel which takes you up to Canal Street in about 15 minutes. The street car can get quite busy though and in once instance it took us half an hour by the street car to get back to the hotel which eats up into your precious holiday time!
Secondly, we had a room which was nice and big, and had two windows as it was in the corner, however, the room was not soundproofed in anyway, so we heard the traffic (streetcars are very noisy) as well as any other sounds from outside. In addition, the room was right next door to a service cupboard and we repeatedly got woken up at 6.30am by the cleaning staff. This is not what you want on your holiday!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there is a great restaurant next door to the hotel (Superior Grill) which does great Mexican Food and Mohitos!
Room Tip: Don't take a corner room! Size does not make up for being woken up in the mornings!
