Hard to find. Even though it is right across the street from the Capitol building, the building is not that easy to find. We circled the street a few times before we saw the sign. Also, our delivery driver could not find it either.
I would recommend requesting a room with a view of the Capitol. We had a view of other buildings, so we kept the curtains closed for our stay. A view of the Capitol would be beautiful!
We checked in on a Saturday night. Although we couldn't find the hotel very easily because of the small sign, we were relieved when we could pull right into the parking structure and have our car parked for us. It is valet parking over, and free for overnight guests (plus any tip for the valet). The valets were very organized and have a list of the day's guests so you can go right in with your things and check in without having to worry about parking and hauling your things. The check in process is okay. The lady at the front desk was a little demanding. I had reserved the room through Expedia and she required all of our information a second time and wasn't very friendly throughout the process. I wouldn't bother going through Expedia again with this hotel. We reserved a room with 2 queen beds, and our room was much larger than we expected. Very roomy with a couch, fridge, desk & extra chair for watching tv. When we arrived, our room was 55 degrees and took a long time to warm up because they hadn't turned the heat on. I think that our shower was missing the liner, but we were able to make do. We had 3 guests so we were going to use the pull out sofa. It wasn't made up & had some crumbs on it, so if you are going to use this feature, you should let them know ahead of time, and then remind them before you check-in.
While we were staying here, there was an event going on. We weren't disturbed at all by the visitors and our stay was still quiet.
There is a restaurant in the hotel that we had breakfast at. The service there was good and we would recommend the breakfast.
Keep in mind that if you are planning on sight seeing with your own car, you will have to go through the valet each time. Some may like this, but others not. Luckily, the hotel is close to State Street (a lot of shops & dining) which is in walking distance.
Upon checkout, we had the same lady that we had to check-in. We were confused about what she needed from us on check out, and she was really not helpful. We just waited there until we figured out that she didn't need anything else, very weird experience.
Overall, this hotel is an okay value. If you are willing to spend $20-30 more, there is a nicer hotel in the square that makes more of an effort to make your stay more comfortable.
