I usually stay at this hotel for at least a week or two every year for business, and have been doing so since 2003. While it is not really the closest to anything in Madison, as it legitimately is in Middleton, it is close to my office. To get downtown, without any traffic, is about 20 min. The hotel itself is nicely laid out, as you walk in, you are greeted by the two story check in area, with two waiting areas to the left and the right. A business computer is to the left of the check in counter, and is hardly used. An elevator to the other two stories is to the right of check in. Behind that, is the ample breakfast area/Duffy's pub. Anyone of age gets two free drink tickets per night, rail and domestic beer. Breakfasts themselves are usually the standard yogurt, apples/oranges, hard boiled eggs, some pastries, waffles, oatmeal, and one or two hot dishes, like mini omelets, biscuits and gravy, Canadian bacon and eggs, etc. The rooms are mostly the same, with exception of the suites. The basic room is an overly comfortable bed (some times too soft to sleep in), and quite often a couch. They recently started to swap out the old TV's for new LG flat screens. Some times the bathrooms are a little bit rough around the edges, nothing major, just a point to be made. Last time there was a bit of mildew, other times, there are slow drains, calcified shower heads, strange Icy-Hot smell (strong medicinal mint). The suites are on the 3rd floor, and are two story rooms, two TV's, a couch, and usually a hot tub. The rooms can get hot in the summer, even with the air. The ceiling fan in the room helps. As I do not usually spend weekends here, I cannot speak for them, but there is almost always a conference going on or some kind of sporting event on the week days, so things can get a little noisy in the halls at night with kids running up and down. It is located near to quite a few good places to eat, less than 10 min drive. I would suggest Hu Hot for some flat top stir fry, or Hubbard Ave. Diner for good 50's-esque diner food and awesome pie.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review about our hotel on Tripadvisor ! You certainly stay here often as this is the best, most decriptive review we had ! We are so glad that you enjoy your stays with us overall . We did want to mention that all of our rooms do now have flat-screen Tv's. Also some other updates to mention coming in 2012 are automatic front doors, and granite sinks in the bathrooms to give us a more updated look ! Thanks for all your stays with us and can't wait for you to see our changes for 2012 ! Take care and Thanks again for your review !
