Stayed here for one night while visiting Mesa Verde National Park. The motel was formerly a Travelodge. Presumably, the transition took place fairly recently; they're still using Travelodge toiletries, etc.
The rooms are set back from the road, so there's little traffic noise. Ours was spacious and had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and in-room wi-fi. It also had a safe large enough for a laptop computer, but no key; perhaps keys are provided by the front desk on request. However, I preferred to carry my laptop and other valuables when I left the room, as security doesn't appear to be this place's strong point. Although the motel didn't seem particularly busy - i.e., no confusion about overbooking - and it was long past check-out time, we were given a room that was already occupied. This I discovered when I inserted the plastic card key issued by the front desk only to find a backpack, clothing and personal items on the bed and table. When I told the front desk that someone was obviously booked into the room, the reply was: "Well, they're not supposed to be."
I was given another room, this time requiring a metal key. That was more encouraging, though below the lock there was a round hole in the door covered with duct tape. I noticed several other doors like this. Not sure which locking system they're switching to, but either way, it didn't inspire confidence.
Otherwise, the motel was okay for an overnight stop, but I wouldn't have stayed a second night, and I'll choose somewhere else if I find myself in Cortez again.
