“Amazingly Romantic & Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

My husband and I loved every moment at the Hamilton House! It was the perfect place for our honeymoon. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was outstanding. The property is well landscaped with beautiful trees and plants. Enjoy sitting on one of the many patios, drinking coffee or reading a book. It is conveniently located just south of Hot Springs, close enough for shopping but yet far enough for the quiet sounds of birds and wind in the trees. We plan to return for our first anniversary.

“Great Weekend!”

My boyfriend and I recently spent a weekend at the Hamilton House and it was fabulous! I have never been to Hot Springs and didn't realize how much there was to do there. From spas to casinos to shopping this town has it all! The staff at the Hamilton House was so helpful too. When we asked them for ideas they knew plenty of things to do and see, shops to visit, and restaurants. When we arrived a staff member gave us a tour of the grounds before taking us to our room. When we came down for breakfast the first thing we noticed was the smell coming from the kitchen. It was smelled delicious! When the staff brought us our food we couldn't help notice how much there was...there was such a variety! We had fruit, yogurt, biscuits, bacon, eggs and a souffle! By the end of the meal we were stuffed! Since my boyfriend loves history he kept asking the staff questions about the house and its previous owners...they were so very helpful with this too! They knew so much about the place. I loved it so much my parents are thinking about coming down for a visit!

“Our wonderful wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

We recently had our wedding at the Hamilton house and it was not only beautiful but perfect!!!!! From the staff to the food it was great!!! My guests all commented on how helpful and thoughtful the staff and Tina were. 2 of my bridesmaids are engaged and are planning to have their wedding here after the experience of my wedding. I plan on returning to the Hamilton house every year for my anniversary and reliving the wonderful experience I had here at this historic estate.

“Don't Waste Your Money”

My one and only son was married June 12, 2010. Because I grew up in a time when the Hamilton House was THE place to hold event, I decided to have the rehearsal dinner there. IT WAS A DISASTER! First of all, there is no continuity in management. We set up what we wanted with one manager, who was fired. The next manager (Tina) was the laziest, most sour woman I've ever had to deal with in my life. I asked dozens of times for an invoice or contract. I would be promised calls with information, and never got calls. I was promised emails, and never received them. We finally had to go in to the business to verify that what we wanted was being handled. The Bride, Brides Mother, Groom's Grandmother, Groom's Father, and myself (Groom's mother) went over everything. When we arrived June 11th, not ONE THING was done like we asked. The room was dirty and not set up. Tina at the Hamilton House kept our caterers from serving drinks. They ordered the wrong wine and didn't even put it out. My guests had to traverse up and down steps to get beverages. Nobody took care of the guests. The bride's grandmother fell and broke ribs in all the chaos and missed the wedding the next day. People left early, so there was so much food left. Tina/Hamilton House would not let our caterers pack up the food for us. It was thrown out. Hamilton House charged me double what the original manager quoted me, even charging me for catering, when they didn't cater it. It is so sad when a city's landmark falls into hands that let it crumble. Say farewell to this once regal restaurant.

“Unbelievable”

Where to start...I decided to have my wedding reception back in August of 2008 at The Hamilton House Estates. My wedding theme has been centered around vintage glamour. My husband and I chose the Hamilton House for it's authentic, histotrical decor and vibe. Plus, we have had dinners there before in our years of dating.

I have to say for the past 8 months, I have been dealing with the staff at The Hamilton House. I have dealt with every single person that works there and let me tell you, I have NEVER had such great customer service. They have treated me with respect, caring, and concern just like it was their own wedding reception. The staff has bent over backwards for us. We couldn't find the food for the price we wanted to pay at any other place and when I spoke to Racheal about it she said, "Tell me what you want and what you want to pay and we will work out something together." I couldn't believe my ears! In my experience in dealing with people, when you say wedding they see dollar signs. And as she knew my fiance and I were paying for this on our own she was so willing to be more than fair and make us happy. Crissy, Racheal, and Heather, and Carmen always promptly returned my phone calls and emails. They did work for me as far as finding out prices and juggling different options as far as food, and wine/champagne, etc. to give me choices.

Not only this, but I cancelled a few things (because I am fickle and hard to please) and they did not make me feel bad or like I was bothering them at all-they worked with me and treated me with the upmost respect. On my wedding night there, We found out that our champagne order of Andre did not come in. Instead of them telling us about it and stressing us out- they simply took the initiative to upgrade us to their own private stock of a more expensive champagne and did not even charge us the difference.

We took a boat ride they also provide for a fee and they had champagne waiting for us on the boat as a gift to us. The boat was clean and very nice and lush. The boat driver was extremely polite and personable. They did fireworks over the lake at the end of our reception. It was beautiful and my expectations were shattered.

As far as the decor of The Hamilton House and some of the previous reviews I have read on here about it being out dated and such; do you know how hard it is to find an authentic, historical, gorgeous place like this!? Believe me, I've looked. Maybe I was born in the wrong era, or maybe I just have impecable taste but this place is where it's at if you want to basque in the ambience of the good old days when flappers and speakeasies were abundant. This place is dripping with taste. The ballroom makes you wish it was 1940. It has a massive chandlier looming over a black an d white checkered floor with tables covered in vintage lace. The views are breath taking inside and out. But the real gem to The Hamilton House is the staff where in today's world, it is few and far between to find personal people who don't see you as money but as a person with cares and concerns and feelings. The Hamilton House and it's staff is a breathe of fresh air in this stuffy world.
