Where to start...I decided to have my wedding reception back in August of 2008 at The Hamilton House Estates. My wedding theme has been centered around vintage glamour. My husband and I chose the Hamilton House for it's authentic, histotrical decor and vibe. Plus, we have had dinners there before in our years of dating.
I have to say for the past 8 months, I have been dealing with the staff at The Hamilton House. I have dealt with every single person that works there and let me tell you, I have NEVER had such great customer service. They have treated me with respect, caring, and concern just like it was their own wedding reception. The staff has bent over backwards for us. We couldn't find the food for the price we wanted to pay at any other place and when I spoke to Racheal about it she said, "Tell me what you want and what you want to pay and we will work out something together." I couldn't believe my ears! In my experience in dealing with people, when you say wedding they see dollar signs. And as she knew my fiance and I were paying for this on our own she was so willing to be more than fair and make us happy. Crissy, Racheal, and Heather, and Carmen always promptly returned my phone calls and emails. They did work for me as far as finding out prices and juggling different options as far as food, and wine/champagne, etc. to give me choices.
Not only this, but I cancelled a few things (because I am fickle and hard to please) and they did not make me feel bad or like I was bothering them at all-they worked with me and treated me with the upmost respect. On my wedding night there, We found out that our champagne order of Andre did not come in. Instead of them telling us about it and stressing us out- they simply took the initiative to upgrade us to their own private stock of a more expensive champagne and did not even charge us the difference.
We took a boat ride they also provide for a fee and they had champagne waiting for us on the boat as a gift to us. The boat was clean and very nice and lush. The boat driver was extremely polite and personable. They did fireworks over the lake at the end of our reception. It was beautiful and my expectations were shattered.
As far as the decor of The Hamilton House and some of the previous reviews I have read on here about it being out dated and such; do you know how hard it is to find an authentic, historical, gorgeous place like this!? Believe me, I've looked. Maybe I was born in the wrong era, or maybe I just have impecable taste but this place is where it's at if you want to basque in the ambience of the good old days when flappers and speakeasies were abundant. This place is dripping with taste. The ballroom makes you wish it was 1940. It has a massive chandlier looming over a black an d white checkered floor with tables covered in vintage lace. The views are breath taking inside and out. But the real gem to The Hamilton House is the staff where in today's world, it is few and far between to find personal people who don't see you as money but as a person with cares and concerns and feelings. The Hamilton House and it's staff is a breathe of fresh air in this stuffy world.
