“Don't expect a true B&B experience”

I don’t usually write reviews when I stay somewhere, but I wanted to in this case because Lookout Point Bed & Breakfast Inn is so different from any other Bed and Breakfast that we’ve stayed in. I will say that the setting is quite beautiful with wonderful views of the lake. However, we were disappointed that it was more of a boutique hotel rather than a true Bed & Breakfast. My husband and I have stayed in B&B’s all over the world and the US (including Hot Springs), and what we really enjoy about staying in them is how welcome we feel, the fabulous breakfasts, and the character, history and unique architecture of the houses. The décor in Lookout Point is mostly tastefully done, but it isn’t unique or memorable, again like something you would find in a hotel chain. The innkeepers, Ray and Kristie, did stop by for a few moments to chat at breakfast, but we didn’t feel particularly welcome then, or at any other time during our stay. It was more like we were both “just another paying guest”. Although the breakfast was tasty (and the orange daises were very cute), it wasn’t overwhelming. The price also seemed high for what we got. We paid $199 for one night and the room seemed a little cramped. We have stayed in some truly amazing homes (including in Hot Springs) that offered much more for much less cost. Overall, the room was pretty clean, although we were a little surprised that there was what looked like rust (mold?) stains all along the underside of both of the shower curtain rails. We did enjoy the “bee” shampoo and conditioners provided, as well as the robes in the closet. That was a nice touch! We could also hear the people above us walking around, which didn’t help our sleep quality. Over all, we were disappointed because we had read such wonderful reviews and were expecting so much more for the price. It also would have been nice if there were less emphasis on marketing and more personal interest in the guests. I’m not really sure why Lookout Point is listed under B&B’s section rather than the hotel section.

One of the wonderful aspects of the Inn/B&B industry is that each offers a unique experience. We appreciate the feedback, and ask every guest for suggestions on how we might improve their stay.

While many B&B's are created from historic Victorian homes, Lookout Point was built new (opening in 2003) as an Inn. The inn was built in the Arts & Crafts architectural style (think Frank Lloyd Wright), and offers all of the modern amenities. You'll even find "sleep sound" machines in each room producing white noise, since the inn is quieter than most people's home neighborhoods!

Many B&B's have a set time for breakfast, with all guests dining at a common table; however at Lookout Point we serve from 8-9:30, and guests have their own individual table indoors or outside by the waterfalls. This flexibility seems to fit well with most travelers, many who prefer to have a bit more privacy rather than dining with strangers. So in this way Lookout Point really is different from many B&B's, but again there is so much diversity in the industry.

Thank you for your feedback! It is our goal to provide exemplary hospitality and comprehensive pampering, and privacy. When we fail to accomplish this goal, we are very disappointed in ourselves.

You're right--Lookout Point is just minutes from all the Hot Springs attractions, including Oaklawn Racing Park, the Hot Springs National Park, and Garvan Woodland Gardens. Yet the is situated in a quiet spot, overlooking the lake. Our hope is that every guest will experience a bit of peace & tranquility, and some pampering when staying at the inn.

“Get away from it all & induldge yourself!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012 via mobile

WOW!!! My husband and I just visited Lookout Point Lakeside Inn and were very pleased. The setting is gorgeous and the inn is perfect for a getaway of any kind. The atmosphere is just one of luxurious relaxation! It would be hard not to get away from daily ife here. The beds are AMAZING and our room, the Birdsong room, even had a rain shower! It was ideal for two and very cozy with a balcony overlooking the lake. I would request this room again in a heartbeat! The staff are incredibly helpful and want you to thoroughly enjoy your stay as much as possible. Breakfast is included and that was the perfect delicious way to end our little trip! We will be back very soon and would not want to stay anywhere else in Hot Springs!

“Very Relaxing, Warm Welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed here after a business conference in Little Rock, the reception was very warm and inviting. The staff was very accomadating in making sure we would enjoy our visit. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, we enjoy the afternoon reception by the fire and sharing with the other guests. Breakfast was not rushed, relaxing and enjoyable. Great presentation in the food service and the quality of food was 5 star. The light wheat pancakes, crisp bacon, fruits and quality teas made for an enjoyable start to the day. You must take in a mineral bath at the Quapaw Bathhouse, really worth the time. Antique shopping and strolling the streets and shops made for a very relaxing trip.

“Exquisite Experience in Hot Springs”

I just spent a few days at Lookout Point. I went after a business trip to Little Rock for a little R and R It was fabulous! Everything about it is first class from the excellent suggestions that come with the reservation to the warm welcome, beautiful setting on the lake, generous food offerings throughout the day, yummy breakfast, helpful staff, delightful owners. beautiful furnishings, linen, and terry.
The labyrinth was an added bonus.
I loved it and hope business takes me to Little Rock again so I can tack on an extra day or two to enjoy Lookout Point.
Thank you!!!

Wow! When the woman who literally "wrote the book" on customer service and world-class service speaks so highly of Lookout Point, we are humbled. Thanks for your words, and your suggestions! We continually work to improve the inn and our service.
