“sarinbuana ecorest lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Its the best place, utterly and overall. The magic about this place is simple and mesmerizing.
1. If you love pure, wild nature - its here, right up in front of you, plus stunning views and many different animals you can simply watch or learn about.
2. If you like spacious, comfortable and amazingly looking accommodation - its here (and the beds are so comfortable!). Interiors are beautiful, designed to bring joy and bless but also feels like home..
3. If you like quiet and not to be disturbed - easily achieved. You can stay at your bungalow and enjoy reading book (huge library), surfing web (you can use lodge's computer with free wi-fi) or simply lay on the terrace and sunbathing or observing the colorful butterflies.
4.If you like to talk and meet new people - just step in to fantastic restaurant, where chairs, tables, pictures, all details are inviting and food is mouthwatering! Not to mention about delicious desserts (sic!). Here you can talk to other lovely guests or fantastic hosts (Linda and Norm) but also to people who works here - super nice people. You are always greeted with the smile and genuine interest in how you are. Also, small walk to the village where people are friendly and open will bring many new friends and interesting conversations.
The most important thing for me here is that you can do here whatever you pleases.
Sarinbuana Eco Lodge offers many activities like hiking, cooking class ect
but you must try massage here. Angelic experience.
This place is as though a condensed flavor, smell and spirit of Bali; engaging and peaceful.
I feel true happiness here.

“Fantastic family holiday”

We were at first anxious about taking our 9month old Hannah to Bali but after the first 24 hours in the paradise that is Sarinbuana, we couldn't have made a better decision. The ladies in the kitchen prepared whatever we asked for Hannah and after we had fed her took her and played with her so we could enjoy a meal for two from the sensational menu. We loved relaxing with Hannah in the gardens which included monkeys, a rabbit, guinea pigs, a dog and all sorts of beautiful butterflies and insects for her to enjoy. We took Hannah for swims in the pristine waterhole and in a backpack for walks in the surrounding rainforest, village and mountains. We indulged in a massage each a day, the BEST massages we've ever had. The staff from Putri the manager, to the drivers, cleaners and massuesses were all friendly and a pleasure to chat to. Norm and Linda, who set up Sarinbuana, have created what we consider to be the only place we have been to, and we are widely travelled, that actually 100% fully deserves the 'eco' prefix to its name. They're also good folks and great to have a yarn with. This was our second trip and we will most certainly be back.

Room Tip: There are two family houses- Tree house and Jungle room, good for bigger families but if you are thr...

“Ascend to the skies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I visited my friends in a totally magical place, the magic, because not a lot of projects around the world that do not violate the pristine beauty of nature, and exist in harmony with her! Amazing atmosphere in the mountains, jungle, paradise birds and butterflies, cozy bungalow, excellent cuisine made from anything that grows right here in a very sincere and caring staff, not spoiled by civilization, the most delicious ice cream, a great spa with views of the wild jungle, we even took a lesson in Thai massage, but next trip we want to learn to play and gamelan, visit the temple on the mountain top! This journey now inspired! And most important project is lively because his owners Linda and Norman are amazing people! They told us about permokultur and grass vetiver, small but very important things about building homes in tropical conditions! Results will not tell! Better to see once than to hear 100 times! Emotions and experiences is invaluable! !

“My experience at Sarinbuana Eco Lodge...”

I recently visited Bali, & had the great pleasure of staying at Sarinbuana Eco lodge, on the lower slopes of Mt. Batukaru,

I found the staff courteous & responsive to all of my needs/whims. The food & my room were 1st. class ! what a beautiful, peaceful setting ! I had the most wonderful time at the Ecolodge.

As a botanist, horticulturist & permaculturist, I must make special mention of the owner’s unique & successful attempt at restoration ecology/ecological engineering, transforming cow & coconut based land use to edible jungle, for both human & wildlife, in an area far greater than the acreage covered by the lodge.

In fact, by educating the locals & contributing economically to village life, the owner’s have succeeded in creating an extensive wildlife preserve in an area where many of bali’s endangered species survive. I found it especially encouraging at the owner’s attempts to breed the very rare Balinese starling/ Balinese mynah, a most beautiful bird.

Sarinbauna Eco Lodge is a unique, enjoyable & magnificent place !...

“Beautiful retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We highly recommend this location for anyone who has had it with the crowds and traffic of the rest of Bali. It is way, way off the grid and extremely peaceful and quiet. You get a good sense of village life. We stayed here four nights over New Year's and thoroughly enjoyed it although we think it would be much more pleasurable when it is not the rainy season. The work they are doing to help preserve the area and to provide a sustainable existence is very admirable. We stayed in Rupah cottage--the view was spectacular and the the surroundings delightful. We particularly enjoyed hiking with our local guide, which we did on two days. The food was excellent and plentiful. One warning--the trip from the main road in took about 90 minutes on a "road" in complete disrepair--it was bone-jarring. Fortunately it was worth it.
