We (couple with adult daughter)arrived exhausted after a full day of driving and sightseeing (Atchison, Kansas - Amelia Earhart's home and then the Harry S Truman sites) at this bright, warm hotel, a welcoming receptionist offering delicious cookies and ready coffee in the alcove near the breakfast room. Everything looked new and inviting. What a beginning! Our room (305) did not disappoint - big, comfortable and warm - bathroom shiny, impeccable and warm - did I mention that it was really cold outside? The next morning frost covered everything. Our "continental" breakfast was anything but - it had everything, including pancakes. The big test - coffee - was perfect.The 3 of us agreed that we were glad we had booked for 2 nights and didn't have to move on. We were going to get to stay another day in this great hotel (and we are regulars at Holiday Inn, but this one outdid itself). Oh yes, it was very easy to find coming off the I-70, and really was non-smoking.

We brought our High School Soccer team to this hotel for the State Tournament in November. If was an awesome experience; the rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. The desk staff was more helpful than we could have ever hoped! Continental breakfast was good and the foyer was roomy for team meetings and pre-game meeting areas. The experience was more than we could have hoped, staying in numerous hotels around the state of Missouri with large groups for one thing or another...we have had the expereince of seeing many. Hospitable, accomidating, clean and comfortable - what else do you need?!

Recently, I traveled to Independence, Missouri on a business trip. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon from Michigan tired and hungry since I hadn't had any time to eat before I came to the hotel. I asked the very nice young man at the front desk if he happened to have any cookies. He said no but that he would make some for me and asked if I would prefer the chocolate chip or the double chocolate with the pink sprinkles. I picked the chocolate chip. About 25 minutes later that very, very nice young man delivered warm, fresh cookies directly to my door. It was a wonderful experience and I will definitely come back.

Made a trip to Kansas City 2010 and found this hotel in Independence Missouri. Very nice, clean facility, and courteous, helpful staff..
