Stayed in the lagoon access resort room 147 on the 5th to 11th of feb.
Great room, with the swim up pool. Pool was always clean, staff was very friendly, housecleaning one of the best in bali
Amazing value for the breakfast. Had dinner at bella Rossa and tenkai which was great food although quite on the expensive side.
Get the club benefits. Amazing cocktail hour between 5-7. Special thanks to igu from club garden and bagus from housekeeping

“Really Lovely Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I stayed here with my Husband and 3 year old son for a week at the begining of February and couldn't fault the resort.
We booked directly with the resort and it included airport transfers which were excellent. The airport is very busy and once we found our guide, he was excellent. We had our own car and was soon on our way to the resort. The traffic around the airport and kuta was overwelming, so many scooters! When we arrived in the resort it was like a peaceful haven. We were soon checked into our room. We upgraded to a premier club room as it was bigger which we needed for the three year old. The pools were both lovely and cleaned every morning. The food in the resort was excellent and lots of choice. We did eat out a couple of times, and it was cheaper than the hotel by about $20, but really the hassle of going out with a pushchair, the pavements aren't great, and the hassle you get from everyone (come in to my shop, come for a massage etc) it really wasn't worth the saving to be honest. Plus the standard of the food in the resort is excellent and there was no problem having salad etc.
The only negative was the beauty salon and the spa was very expensive compared to places along the street. The resort spa charges in USD so it is similar prices to Australia really. I went to the salon for a hair treatment and it cost about $55 AUD for just over an hour. My husband went down the round for a 2 hour massage and it cost $8 AUD and was excellent!!!!
I really liked the kids club too. My son went in about 3 times for an hour or so each time and he really enjoyed it. On the last morning he actually asked to go there and play! Which is a great recomendation.

“pricey, large”

this is all in terms of conparing with Puri Taman Sari-my first hotel in Bali. authentic, quiet, Beautiful for 70-100$!

padma-Very large and fancy. but loud and crowded! balinese touches but not really balinese. food-good. room-enjoyed the lagoon access room. garden club lounge-just ok. snacks there were western-i preferred just purchasing balinese entrees. check-in was aggravating-i am a mother tavelling solo with a young child. we were tired and hot after a long day. we had to wait to check in because we needed to be taken to the Garden Club Lounge for check in. it was not a short walk. then, we walked all the way back, through the lobby, to ge to our room. we would have saved tons of energy and time if we were allowed to checkin at general reception.

another unsual problem-if you have a debit card, checkin is a problem. the receptionist said if i use my debit card, the hotel takes out $500 as a deposit, which i would not be able to get back if i didn't use it all. she asked me for cash to pay for my room/expnses. What!? after a long discusion, i told her i'd pay for my room up front using the debit card so i won't have to worry about this deposit. she ran my card. afterwards, she still asked m to use cash for all my meals because the hotel is worried it wouls not be paid by my debit card.what!?!? after another long explanation: that i have a debit card because i have money in my account, i'd be happy to show her my balance, that if i can afford the cost of $500/night i just paid her for room, why wouldn't i have enough in my card to pay for food?!?! Finally she said ok.....

the good-good food, nice lagoon pool.
not good-hotel not exactly on the beach, no beach loungers, beach was Not attractive. hotel was loud and crowded even for low season.

Dear Valued Reviewer,

Greetings from Padma Resort Bali,

Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback on TripAdvisor.

I’ve noted and discussed your comments regarding our private check – in with our Front Office Manager to find the best way to improve its process and make it hassle-free.

In regards to your comment concerning debit card problem, it seems like there’s a miscommunication and misunderstanding. We usually suggest our guests to use credit card as a method of payment, as using a debit card can cause problem at the end sometimes. With a debit card, the amount we have to hold for your entire estimated bill will effectively reduces the money in your account and will take much longer time to release it if your bill turns out to be less then expected. This could be a major problem for some people as they will end up without access to their own money until the issuing bank release the hold. An alternative method of payment is to deposit some cash (the amount depends on your length of stay), which is fully refundable should there is no incidental charges occurred at the end of your stay.

Once again thank you for your feedback. I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back to the Padma on your next visit to Bali.

Warmest Regards,

T. Soerjanto

“Beautiful place, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Every aspect of its exterior is absolutely gorgeous and such a pleasure to stroll around in and "stop to smell the roses" so to speak. The gardens are amazing and the chief gardener is such a lovely man...friendly, polite, informative and very professional. A really nice guy!
Unfortunately the interior is another story altogether. I stayed in a Lagoon Access room and, I don't know about other rooms, but my bathroom was an absolute danger zone if you don't have your wits about you at all times. There's about an inch-high step up to the toilet and also up into the shower, which may not seem like much unless you get up in the middle of the night in total darkness and don't expect them to be there. My rude awakening to this fact happened on my first night and I spent the rest of my holiday nursing a sprained ankle.....
More on the interior...it bothered me every time I stepped in and out of the lagoon access door that the curtains, including the (wet) mat on the floor were mouldy....like, YUK! Furthermore, they wash the in-room cups, glasses and cutlery in the bathroom sink and I didn't see what they dry them with but I suppose it wouldn't take 3 guesses... in a room full of used towels.
I didn't complain about any of the above (blaming myself for stupidly spraining my ankle) and just let it all slide. However, I did (once) express my annoyance at 3 knocks on my door at a time when I was in the bath tub, after I'd hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door!
As for the staff...the "Can Do" attitude just doesn't exist despite the numerous times they say to you, "If you need anything, call guest relations and they will help you". I made the mistake of kindly requesting, if at all possible, for local fruit in season to be placed in my room, as they do, instead of apples and oranges, which Australia has in abundance all year round. Mangosteens were in season then and they happen to be one of my favourite fruits but... No Can Do! "So sorry ma'am" was the reply from "Guest Relations"!
Guess where I won't be staying if I ever choose to visit Bali again in the future.
To end on a positive note... the spa was excellent and its staff were all really nice, courteous and professional. Miss Eka in particular was really good in that she understood exactly what I needed and she actually made an effort to make me feel wonderful. The ladies in the hair salon were really nice too.

Room Tip: I don't know about other rooms but don't choose the lagoon access room if you don't want...

Dear Valued Reviewer,

Greetings from Padma Resort Bali!

Thank you for your balanced feedback. I’m glad that you enjoyed our garden and also the service from spa and salon.

I have brought up your comments to the Department Heads in concerned for immediate follow up with their team and for our continuous improvement. Responding to your concern regarding the hygiene and sanitation matter, I’d like to clarify that our Standard Operational Procedure requires all used cups, glasses and cutleries from the room to be taken to the stewards to have them properly cleaned. Nevertheless, we’ll investigate this case further and ensure that it won’t be repeated again in the future.

I appreciate your view of our resort. However, please don’t hesitate to contact my team directly should you change your mind. It’s my wish that you’d experience a better Padma Resort the next time you stay with us.

Kindly Regards,

T. Soerjanto
