Every aspect of its exterior is absolutely gorgeous and such a pleasure to stroll around in and "stop to smell the roses" so to speak. The gardens are amazing and the chief gardener is such a lovely man...friendly, polite, informative and very professional. A really nice guy!
Unfortunately the interior is another story altogether. I stayed in a Lagoon Access room and, I don't know about other rooms, but my bathroom was an absolute danger zone if you don't have your wits about you at all times. There's about an inch-high step up to the toilet and also up into the shower, which may not seem like much unless you get up in the middle of the night in total darkness and don't expect them to be there. My rude awakening to this fact happened on my first night and I spent the rest of my holiday nursing a sprained ankle.....
More on the interior...it bothered me every time I stepped in and out of the lagoon access door that the curtains, including the (wet) mat on the floor were mouldy....like, YUK! Furthermore, they wash the in-room cups, glasses and cutlery in the bathroom sink and I didn't see what they dry them with but I suppose it wouldn't take 3 guesses... in a room full of used towels.
I didn't complain about any of the above (blaming myself for stupidly spraining my ankle) and just let it all slide. However, I did (once) express my annoyance at 3 knocks on my door at a time when I was in the bath tub, after I'd hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door!
As for the staff...the "Can Do" attitude just doesn't exist despite the numerous times they say to you, "If you need anything, call guest relations and they will help you". I made the mistake of kindly requesting, if at all possible, for local fruit in season to be placed in my room, as they do, instead of apples and oranges, which Australia has in abundance all year round. Mangosteens were in season then and they happen to be one of my favourite fruits but... No Can Do! "So sorry ma'am" was the reply from "Guest Relations"!
Guess where I won't be staying if I ever choose to visit Bali again in the future.
To end on a positive note... the spa was excellent and its staff were all really nice, courteous and professional. Miss Eka in particular was really good in that she understood exactly what I needed and she actually made an effort to make me feel wonderful. The ladies in the hair salon were really nice too.
Room Tip: I don't know about other rooms but don't choose the lagoon access room if you don't want...

Dear Valued Reviewer,
Greetings from Padma Resort Bali!
Thank you for your balanced feedback. I’m glad that you enjoyed our garden and also the service from spa and salon.
I have brought up your comments to the Department Heads in concerned for immediate follow up with their team and for our continuous improvement. Responding to your concern regarding the hygiene and sanitation matter, I’d like to clarify that our Standard Operational Procedure requires all used cups, glasses and cutleries from the room to be taken to the stewards to have them properly cleaned. Nevertheless, we’ll investigate this case further and ensure that it won’t be repeated again in the future.
I appreciate your view of our resort. However, please don’t hesitate to contact my team directly should you change your mind. It’s my wish that you’d experience a better Padma Resort the next time you stay with us.
Kindly Regards,
T. Soerjanto
