We stayed in Amed for 3 days in Nov11- wasn't many tourists around. The weather was hot and sunny but as you're at the seaside there were some breezes that helped. Still the room we stayed in at Aquaterrace got very hot inside as the fan isn't particularly strong- it's also quite tricky to operate. The bathroom has an open roof arrangement which invites mosquitoes and the shower is quite erratic- can squirt you in the face randomly- might be on a pump system. The people are especially nice and the breakfasts and juices are very good and well priced meals are available- we ate elsewhere though just to "go out". There are stairs as it's on a hillside so not for dodgy hipsters. The views are very nice and there is parking beside the road below. There are staff around at all times so no worries with security.
We had a small minibar fridge with reasonable prices in the room. The room had some dust around and we were bothered by a gecko making an incredible noise in the night. I discovered it was living behind a bureau- it was about 30cm long! We expected they would capture it and remove but it was killed- ugh! Not Buddhists evidently. The garden is nice- frangipani flowers. I imagine the upper, more expensive room is of a higher standard but I didn't confirm this. There isn't really any place to hang your clothes after you wash them- this is a requirement for somewhere next to a beach I think.
