“Very Old hotel, reasonable food, lousy ambience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Hello

We stayed in this hotel in Sep 2011 for 4 nights. We were utterly disappointed with the extremely outdated rooms and very shoddy ambience. The hotel was under renovation, so during the day time, its impossible to stay back in the room, because of noise. Hotel did not even have an elevator. You need to help yourself through very vertical stairs and reach the rooms.
Biggest plus of this hotel is its location. Almost all places of tourist interest are within walking distance frmo this hotel. But then, all hotels in KanyaK are based in this area, so you can always go for other hotel, if it seems better to you. Room rates were surely not cheap, I am not sure that for a popular tourist place like KanyaK, how much premium did the Hotel owner want to charge. Considering the type of room, I was not happy.
On the 3rd day, we tried room service (there was no restaurant in the hotel), food was reasonable in taste and price, but the room service could have been better.
On my last day, I wanted to get my lunch packed, and ordered it. The lunch was never parceled and I had to make alternate arrangements
All in all, if you can bargain VERY hard, and get a good rate, I would wish you all the best, else you can opt for a better hotel.

“if you are a couple - this is not the place for you.”

Before I begin writing this review - I must highlight that this hotel stay was a part of packaged tour. Hence, can't comment on the price value part - but, I would want to think, that this a cheap accommodation after seeing the standard of rooms and services here. I felt, the rooms and bathrooms were very very ordinary. I had to get the bathroom cleaned to start using it. Bed sheets were washed but were very old. No balcony per room. Food was not good. The only good part I found in this hotel was the view of sunset and sunrise you get from the terrace of the hotel. Main beach is around 700 odd meters from the hotel. Probably, bunch of bachelor friends can consider this as an option, but I would certainly not recommend this to couples. Explore other options.

Room Tip: ask a beach facing room - probably, less than 10% of the total rooms in this hotel are beach facing.

“Budget accomodation in an excellent location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

Best part of TriSea is its location. Ours was Double Deluxe AC room at the 5th floor that gave us an excellent sea view. The room is quite small with an attached bathroom. Felt the interiors were over done, but the plus point was that the room was neat. However, we felt the cushion covers on the chair were a bit shabby and wanted to see other options. They happily showed us next couple of rooms to choose and we shifted to the next room on the same floor. Asked them to replace the bed linen as it didn't give a fresh look! but they changed that too without any hesitation.

Swimming floor on the top floor and the view around was awesome and my kid truly enjoyed it. I was aware that it had an extra charge (INR50 per hour for children & INR100 per hour for adults). For suites it was complimentary.

When we went out to find if there were any better accommodation around we found that this was the best available in similar budget, rest of the hotels were not at all well maintained and were not neat and clean compared to our room.

Bay Watch water theme park is just 1km from the hotel and we were there for a half day too. Both beach and ferry point to Vivekanada rock is at walkable distance from TriSea.

Food from the hotel restaurant was not that great except for the morning Masala tea. We went out to have food. For us it was a pleasant stay especially when we came to know that we got the best available that could come in our budget :)

Room Tip: Ask for a Sea facing /sea view room at the 4th or 5th floor.

“Great Experience...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We found some great value for money! Housed in an unpretentious building with a great elegant view ,the hotel is a landmark in the little town of kanyakumari where the very confluence of the three water-bodies (Tri- Sea)– the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean .The décor is very functional and business-like but very pleasant. The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms spotlessly clean and disinfected, the sheets and linen are fresh.Amazing Swimming pool on top..wow . Room service, Front office are really excellent. All in all, we found it great value for money its more than a star hotel…! Steve Hodgkin

“Best Hotel for cheating Traveler”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We had group of 30 travelers from Bangalore, we had been to Kanyakumari on 07th Oct 2011 with lot hopes that, we are staying in place
near to Seashore enjoying the stay.

We have booked during August 2011 through M/s. R R Tours & Travels – Chennai and It was nightmare for us, when we checked in at 1.30 am, the Great Gentlemen Mr.Kumar – so called General Manger along with other one lady helping him in the reception told me accept 05 rooms at that time and rest will given as and when vacated.

It was horrible experience tome as hotelier and I have blasted them very nicely and asked the remaining rooms very urgently.

The General Manager Mr. Kumar – even he doesn’t had courtesy to tell us in polite way and at lost we got the reaming rooms at 4.30 pm in spite of making the payment well in advance.

Out of 5 rooms, 2 rooms was given in the ground floor and those rooms even it is not suitable for cows and even the house keeping supervisor was
not so helpful.

When I have asked him to change the torn bread spread, he has showed me his angry to that effect.

I will upload the same room’s photographs very soon for every body’s information.

Lastly I advice to all the travelers to take shelter some where else instead of Grate M/s.Trisea Hotel at Kanayakumari
