last month we had our company awards function at the umed bhawanpalace kota. it is a great loaction asit fitted our event theme very well. outdoor jungle theme. the management and staff was very helpful .big palatial rooms at fairly ok rates.hot and tasty food.the palace and the surroundings look great at night. i would certainly like to make another trip, this time with my family. believe me it's worth it!! deepak sehgal

the drive from the main gate to the hotel( 500m) is scary one! there is total darkeness around with minimal street light! but once get the first sight of the majestic palace there is a huge sign of relief.I really dont think the entire palace has been converted to a hotel.Checkin process is smooth. i was really surprised by the size of the room! it very very spacious especially for a solo traveller! they have tried to maintain the charm and elegance of the old palace with zero structural changes. The food was a let down, especially the breakfast.The staff is good and well trained.

I am a frequent traveler who keeps visiting kota (RAJ) for business. Earlier i used to stay in another hotel . For the last one year, last three trips, i am staying in hotel umed bhawan palace. the hotel facilities are reasonably good keeping in view the kind of backward city which kota is. Hotels rooms& bathrooms are decent upkeep is good. Nice bar, food is tasty and served well by courteous staff. All basic facilities are available except wi-fi connectivity in the rooms. Observed lot of improvements over the last one year. overall a decent hotel to stay as it provides value for money.

The only positive thing I can say is that the food is good for evening meals but somewhat pricey. The breakfast was dreadful and limited. The hotel is in need of maintenance & is showing signs of poor maintenance in all areas. The main area of dissatisfaction is the way a particular incident was handled by the general manager, money was stolen from my room during my stay, when I asked the front desk to call the police so I could report the theft, the general manager was very reluctant to get them involved wanting to carry out his own investigation. He then started blaming me for the theft and suggesting that I was lying, not at all the way to treat a guest at his hotel. Eventually I had to go to the local police station to file a report, done in a few minutes while it took over 1 1/2 hrs to not get the hotel to call the police. I would certainly never stay at this hotel and would advise others to be very careful with your belongings left in your hotel room.
