“Good Stay- Hotel however needs maintenance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Visited the Lagoona Resort at Lonavala last weekend with family. The hotel is good and looks quite nice from outside. However, the rooms look a bit rundown and especially, the elevator needs maintenance. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. They had a nice games room with a lot of options on offer. The breakfast was elaborate and the dinner was very good. Overall, the food experience was superb. The market is not too far away and the access road is decent except for the last 1.5 kms, which is a bumpy ride. The place is very peaceful. There was live entertainment in the evenings and a DJ, which was an added attraction for those interested . All in all a good weekend experience with family

“Memorable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We had a warm welcome and a super fast check-in, even though we reached slightly earlier than the usual check-in time. The receptionist was aware of our preferences like Kingsize bed and lagoon facing room and promptly guided us to our room on the 3rd floor (topmost). Extremely spacious rooms with all modern amenities like toiletries, tea coffee maker, comfortable bed and mini safe etc. The room also had a lovely balcony which gave the room a more spacious feel. Though the TV is a bit old-fashioned but all sports and entertainment channels were available and we were able to enjoy the Australian Open Tennis too. The variety of buffet was very decent and we enjoyed the food, the restaurant staff was very courteous. The food included Indian, continental and non-vegetarian variety. The buffets are priced a little higher at Rs. 500++ per person and it would be a better deal if they were included as a part of the tariff only. Recreation options could be increased as they were only limited to a pool table, table tennis and swimming pool. More indoor games could be added and some entertainment for younger kids could be added too. Since we stayed only for a night, it was fine by us but for people staying for longer duration, some more entertainment options are a must. The DJ music coupled with the stuntman show added to the fun in the evening, but could have been for a longer duration. The check-out was equally prompt and since we had requested for a late check-out, the staff was very obliging and accepted the request without disturbing us every now and then to vacate the room. The bathroom was spacious, nice and clean and had a bathtub. Though the inside access road to the resort is slightly bumpy and stretches for 1.5 kms, but its still worth staying here as the resort is very peaceful, has decent views and serves good food. What more could you ask for on a weekend getaway?

Room Tip: Higher floor and lagoon-facing are best rooms.

“needs to raise the bar”

Was looking for a quick get away over a weekend. the rooms are slighly over priced and a bit rundown though overall well maintained. There is a decent games room with a TT, air hockey, pool, fooseball and carrom. The attendant is friendly. The food spread in the buffet inclusive in tariff was average and quality was strictly ok. However, the food ordered in room service was really nice and quite made up for the long wait that the hotel took in sending it over to our room. Their restaurant was quite incapacitated to handle the large crowd over the weekend and their staff untrained for the rush. The swimming pool wasn't clean enough to tempt you to get down and swim.
Overall, the experience was plesant.

“Not a business hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

Only stayed overnight (fortunately) with a late arrival from Mumbai, but it was dingy, cramped, and seemed run down. Bedroom/bathroom had seen better days and I'm not convinced the bed was very clean. I realise that this hotel is not targetted at business travellers, but it was poor by comparison to other similar types of hotel I have previously stayed in in the Lonavla area.
