This was the perfect place for our one night stay in Alleppey.
Great location: It is a short walk to several shops (look out for the banana crisp (chip) shops!), restaurants and the canals. It's also a short rickshaw ride to the very interesting RKK Memorial Museum (review to follow).
The room: Our upstairs, AC and fan en suite room was spacious, clean and quiet with windows on two of the walls. The WIFI connection in the room was very good and the TV had the BBC World Service channel and (I think) CNN. My only (very minor) grumble is that, while there was a bin outside each room, there wasn't one in the bathroom.
We enjoyed a filling breakfast of eggs (one of us had a plain omelette and the other had fried eggs), toast with pineapple jam, baby bananas, pineapple juice and a white, typically Keralan dish whose name I have forgotten!
The owner, Matthew, was very helpful. Among other things, he advised us on the different boat options for cruising the backwaters, which beaches to visit and at what time of day, and what prices to pay for boats/taxis/rickshaws so we knew what to expect.
