The room had a thatched roof and smelled a bit mouldy. The door was not closing hermetically and the bathroom had no roof, which is all fine except if you hate insects like me. There was no aircon and no fan, so it must get very hot in spring. The pool is very nice, and the breakfast on the beach terrace is great. The service is kind and slow.

We found Champey Inn after the Veranda Hotel had double booked us. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Champey was exactly what we were looking for; lovely gardens, nice pool and helpful and friendly staff. Nicolas, the owner has lived in Kep for many years and is a mine of useful information and can arrange pretty much anything you want to do in Kep and nearby Kampot.

The rooms were well furnished, clean and spacious and the bathroom, situated in a small private outdoor area, was a nice point of difference. There is no television or telephone (a plus as far as we were concerned) but there is a small fridge. Yes, as some other reviewers have pointed out, you do get the occasional visit by a nocturnal lizard, but then if that upsets you, maybe S.E.Asia isn't for you!

Location is ideal; the sea is on the doorstep and the hotel has a private, sandy area (not a beach) where you can have a drink or meal in the evening and watch the sunset.

Would highly recommend it to anyone.

We spent for 4 nights in Kep and we stayed at the luxurious resort at Champey Inn Resort, it was changed with warm hospitality management and welcoming with Khmer touching hospitality. So we could gain our experience in there with new stylish of deluxe bungalows design with comfortable and most relax with peaceful jungle and the sea to connect with natural of Kep national park.

Rooms were clean but average; the outdoor bathrooms are a nice touch though and the best part of the rooms. The pool was great, staff was always around to help with things like moving the lounge chairs and serve snacks or drinks. Breakfast was eggs and bread, plus really unusual fruit jam! They said they had wireless internet, but it was down for all the days I was there.

You can see the coast/water from the pool area and the crab shacks are just a 2-3 minute walk up the road. Quiet location and very peaceful.
