“Really quite decent. Not deserving of the negative reviews.”

I was a bit nervous about staying here after reading the negative reviews, but for the price it's fine. The hotel is obviously old (it has the old fashioned timer heat lamps in the bathroom for instance,) but they keep it clean. There are no amenities except for the pool, but if you want a safe decent room to stay in at a good price, it's a great choice.
It's not a part of a chain, but if I had to "rate" it I'd say it's at a Comfort Inn level.
The staff were all very nice and professional.

Room Tip: Near the elevator, other rooms far away.

“Reliable, clean, professional.”

I have stayed at the Parklane many times over the years and have always found the staff helpful, the rooms clean and quiet, and the price reasonable. The breakfast is very good as is the location.

“Adequate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

Wish I could rank it higher as the people were lovely, but.... the hotel has seen its better days. On the plus side, the location is perfect, the room was clean and the staff attentive. Although the hallways smelled like mold, the smell was not in our room or in the breakfast area. Breakfast was very nice fresh fruit and typical bagels, danish and cereal. Pool was clean and still open in late September. Carpet and fixtures were worn, but sheets were clean. Bed was VERY firm, but the staff gave us an extra mattress pad to soften it. If you leave the AC on high, the rapid, very loud cycling will not wake you up as often. AC worked well on a hot, humid day. Bath and Bodyworks toiletry items were a plus.

“THE HORROR!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

We thought we were staying at the four seasons due to the name but this was less than one season...this is a bad hotel, it smells!! From the dirty dinnerware and cot in the hallway on our first day to the old fitness center, this is not a good place to sty. The smell of chlorine from the pool greets you at the door and the pea green hallways haunt you. I came home and had to wash everything b/c the smell of the hotel was still in the clothes. My brother actually got stuck in the bathroom. This place needs to be totally revamped. Two high points~ the maid cleaned up nice choosing to leave our blankets off the bed as we had taken them off as well as the breakfast in the morning is hot.
