Personal attention from the innkeepers, Judy and Larry Horn, adds to the experience of this charming 3-room inn. The accommodations are outstanding, well thought out (a towel warmer and heater to take off the chill in the bathroom, fireplaces in each room, luxurious baths/showers, and a hair dryer in an area separate from the sink) and in tip-top condition, with comfortable mattresses and luxury linens. Breakfast was three courses, with fruit, home-made coffee cake, frittata, hash browns, sausage, juice and tea, and the upstairs parlor offers homemade cookies, tea and beverages twenty-four hours a day. The innkeepers obviously enjoy meeting new people and have lots of suggestions of what to do, where to go, and where to dine.

My children and I were visiting Greensboro North Carolina. I left it up to my daughter to find the accommodation. She outdid herself, she found a wonderful bed and breakfast Troy Bumpas. Troy Bumpers is managed by Judy and Larry Horn. Normally I am not a big breakfast eater but the breakfasts were so delicious I couldn’t resist. They made some of our favorite vegetarian breakfasts. The owners are very accommodating to make sure you are comfortable. Our room was beautiful with a very comfortable four poster bed, ample closet space and a large bathroom. The inn is well contained and decorated with beautiful antiques, which makes you feel right at home. Even though the house is historic it is not a relic they offer Internet access. My only regret is that I didn’t have my bike. They are close to UNCG, and the other colleges, the train station and bus depot, transit, restaurants, malls and the downtown core. All in walking distance if you choose to. This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfasts and I would do it again and highly recommend Troy Bumpas. Wonderful inn keepers.

We stayed at the inn on Thanksgiving eve. It's over 150 years old and stately. I loved the antiques and beautiful guest rooms--each with their own "personalities." The fascinating history of the Troy and Bumpas families in photos and print added to the B&B experience. The inn is so solidly built that you can come and go, play music, use the whirlpool, etc., and not worry about disturbing other guests. Great for a romantic getaway or for those seeking a tranquil, warm setting.

We stayed here 3 nights while in town for the ACC tournament. The inn is close to the coliseum as well as several good restaurants. it's in a quiet neighborhood that is safe to walk in. The inn is immaculate and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. They even figured out I was vegetarian and made my breakfast special each day. The breakfasts were hearty and had protein. There is a cereal option if you don't like what they have. There are a couple of different, comfortable sitting areas. There is free wireless throughout and our TV had a DVD player. The bathroom was new with a whirlpool bath and a great shower. The towels were fat and soft and there was even a heated towel rack. The room was very clean and comfortable. I didn't see any dogs but wouldn't have minded if I did. We are definitely coming back next year for the tournament and staying there.
