“Great location - poorly managed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

There is considerable potential for improvement in the management. The lodge and surroundings are simply crying for basic maintenance efforts. Steps are not repared, chairs not replaced when they reach retirement status. When you ask for a missing napkin or glass, it is simply taken from another setting on the table. When that guest arrives, the missing items are again taken from somewhere else on the table....or from the neighbouring table, and so on until the staff is out of table supply and must go to the cabinet....ten steps from the table.

The prices are top end, the value at the opposite end. At half the cost it would be too much.

The "complimentary" glass of "champagne" (actually Spanish Cava, black Freycinet, cheap sparkling wine) served to everyone standing around on New Year's Eve turned up on my bill, as 1 Glass of Champagne sh.10,000.-. Come on!

“Bring cash!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Absolutely charming, candlelit dinners, stunning views, lovely atmosphere, very relaxing. The owners were away when we visited, but the dogs looked after us; they slept on the verandah and followed us on our morning run! I would happily recommend this to anyone - families, friends, honeymooners. But remember to bring cash - dollars for accommodation and Ksh for drinks and extras, as you're really out in the bush here and the nearest ATM is in Fort Portal.

“Wonderful location and a charming property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

A wonderful location with individual rustic cottages which we really liked. You get a very warm welcome from everyone who works at the lodge and we were fortunate to meet the young English owner who took over the property whgen his father died. The local community receives a lot of support from the lodge and we were impressed by this - it is not just a business and we were please to be part of that ethic whilst travelling in Uganda.

“Charming setting but disappointing overall”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Charming setting indeed, but mediocre service, food and accommodation. Rooms are adequate, but poorly lit, and could have been much better furnished. It has no excuse, for Clouds Gorilla Lodge, fellow Ugandan lodge in the Impenetrable Forest, equally difficult if not more in access, got far better review from me.

“Tranquility with the best nature has to offer!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

I have been Ndali lode about three or four times now and with each visit, I am blown away by the calm, relaxing ambiance, the great food, company and most of all, I get a chance to spend time with nature and meditate.
The warm welcome as one walks in, the family feel at each meal time just lifts your spirits as well as the friendly people/guests and the owners of the lodge.
The walks to the Vanilla farm and surrounding hills accompanied by the dogs, whiskey, Waragi and Sibel and an amazing tour guide makes one appreciate nature at a new level.
And at the end of each day, a massage and nice bath with beautiful view of the hills, crater lakes and the sunset makes the stay all, all the more worth it.
Its just like home away from home, and guess what, it feels that way too!
