Anyone who is traveling to College Park for a visit to UMD can tell you that there are few choice hotels in the area. We usually stay at the Marriot on campus but many times it is booked so we decided to try the Marriot in Greebelt this October. What a nice surprise. This Marriot is way more in line with Marriot standards than the one on campus. The hotel is updated and has a wonderful lobby with a large restaurant and bar. The staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are standard Marriot rooms and are clean and neat. There is a pool and a workout room but for trips like this we did not use it. The hotel is about 5 miles from UMD and is well worth the 7 minute drive. There are few places to eat near the hotel so if you dont want to eat in the hotel you will have to drive but restaurants are only 2 miles away or so. On the down side the consierge lounge is not open on weekends when most college visits take place but with the new lobby it is not really an issue. My new best place to stay when visiting UMD!!

Very clean lobby and updated. There is a Starbucks, restaurant, and bar right on site. Near University of Maryland and about half mile from metro.

This is a very nice property. Service is always very friendly and efficient. Rooms are standard Marriott - nicely decorated, clean, comfortable. Good bar and restaurant, nice breakfast buffet and I like that they have a Starbucks in the lobby. It's very convenient if you just want to just grab a muffin and coffee. Overall, no negatives to report. It's always my choice when traveling to Greenbelt on business.

We stayed at the Marriott after a wedding nearby in Maryland. The room was very nice and the hotel was very clean. The room rate was very good for the location. We utilized room service for breakfast and the food was great. Overall, the hotel is very nice and we would definitely stay here again.
