“Hidden secret”

This was one of the neatest older hotels we have ever stayed in. I normally like to stay in a newer updated hotel. My allergies do not do well with mold and musty smelling rooms. I was very sceptical about staying here, but the pictures looked good so I decided to try it. I was very surprised. The staff at check in was very nice. They had a bird who talked which my child loved. Parking was not too great. The spaces were small and hard to navigate. Our room was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with living room, kitchen and pull down murphy bed. The furnishings were not new nor luxury, but they were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was large enough and sufficient. It did not have granite counters, but we were not expecting them either. The fireplace was great. There was a balcony that hung over the creek. We actually left our window open at night so we could hear the creek. The indoor pool was absolutely wonderful. It had a beautiful waterfall and a bridge. It also had a little balcony off the back of the building where you could sit by the creek. The water in the pool was very warm and nice to swim in. We took the kids up to swim in the winter. The only bad thing was walking outside to get to our room after swimming. Once it finally quit raining, we were able to go outside for a bit one afternoon. There were ducks in the creek. We took some bread and fed the ducks. There were also outdoor grills which would have been great to use in the spring, summer or fall. It was rather cold when we were there. The outdoor pool was very small and was not kept up for the winter. I don't think I would have gone in the summer time for the pool. The rooms were nice and spacious for the money. You could easily stay at the hotel and walk around in Gatlinburg. We were very happy with our stay and will definately be back.

Room Tip: Make sure and look at a layout of the rooms. Not all rooms overlook the creek if this is something...

“Nice motel with some negatives”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The positive: Zoder's Inn is a nice motel in an excellent setting. The stream which runs along beside the rooms is very nice. It is in the downtown area of Gatlinburg. The value is excellent and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The room was very clean.

The negative: the room we stayed in was very dated in terms of the decor. The safety latch was about to fall off the door and the bath room was extremely small. The sink is actually in the room with the bed and not in the bathroom. The free continental breakfast was subpar and very limited in selection. We did not even bother to eat the free breakfast the second morning of our stay.

Overall it is a good choice and we would stay again when in Gatlinburg. They just need to do some updating and improve the continental breakfast.

“Nice surprise in Gatlinburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Stayed at Zoders during offseason for first time after coming to Gatlinburg for decades. First of all the few negatives of Zoders. The location and difficulty of getting in and out of the hotel. Also if you plan on surfing the web it's got to be the worse internet connectivity in Gatlinburg. Now for the good which far outweighs the bad. The front desk staff was great. They were more than pleasant and accomodating. The hotel itself is super clean and the 2 double room we stayed in was a pleasant surprise. The stream noise outside balcony side was fabulous. I would definately stay again but probably would prefer our standard locations nearer the main parkway. But if you are looking for value and cleanliness Zoders is an excellant choice.

“Sleep over a roaring stream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

We were surprised at how nice the room was. Very clean and updated. Very romantic, and when we open the back porch door the sounds of the stream come pouring in. The continental breakfast is a weak, but we did not partake in it.

Room Tip: several blocks to get to the shopping district/

“Nice place on the inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed here in April, 2011 for four days and found it fine. Admittedly we like our timeshare better but for a motel, Zoder's is nice. It looks a little dated on the outside but the king sized room over the creek was updated and nice on the inside. My only complaint was no microwave in the room. We did like the free wine and kibbles each evening. If you want to stay in a motel rather than a condo or cabin, you cannot beat Zoder's.
