My boyfriend and I went on vacation to Gatlinburg. We wanted a room on the strip so that we could just park and walk. We thought this looked like a decent hotel. "Looked" was the word. They charge $99 to stay one night. I understood this since it was a holiday weekend but when we went to the room I was very disappointed. I thought that this was not even worth $99. Right when you open the door, it smelled like mildew and would not air out. The carpet looked so old and dirty that I wouldn't even think about taking my shoes off. There were huge red stains in the carpet and the bed was so hard that I might as well been sleeping on the floor. We decided to stay somewhere else and asked for a refund. Then when finally came home from our vacation and check our accout, found out that the hotel charged the account 3 TIMES instead of crediting it!! It was an horrible experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have read a lot of nasty reviews about this motel, but I do have to say that none of them were quite right. This hotel was wonderful, the view isn't the best in the world, but the hospitality was great. Everyday my room was cleaned, and the housekeepers did a wonderful job.

The woman at the front desk was so nice, she even gave us free tickets to the Craftsmans Fair that they were holding at the time.

I really liked the beds in our rooms, they were very comforatable, and very easy to fall asleep in. I enjoyed our stay so much that my family and I have already booked for another stay in December, and we are also going back in October.

Like I said with all of the reviews I read I had my doubts about this hotel, but after I stayed here I was really shocked at how much better it was than I expected

I rely heavily on reviews to determine where my family and I will spend our hard earned money for vacation. We chose it for the location. This place was awful; way over-priced. We had a problem with our room but instead of receiving an offer to repair the situation I was actually shocked by the way I was treated. Continue your search for a hotel in the area.

First...This is a BUDGET HOTEL not a true B&B. That being said the Rocky Top Village Inn did its job wonderfully. The rooms were large, clean, everything worked (including a quiet AC unit) and the staff was friendly. The location is great...near the strip but not too near as to be loud or crazy. Near the Pancake Log Cabin which was also awesome. There was plenty of parking and there was even a good pool that was well maintained and a decent size. Other pluses that you don't always find at a budget hotel included a good icemaker, cups in the room, a fridge in the room, HBO and wifi. The Office has coffee all the time and donuts early in the morning...they looked like Krispy Kreme. Now, the decor is a little dated. There is wood paneling and the TV also had wood Not exactly Pottery Barn but the flooring is new (I would guess in the last year) and the beds are comfortable and We stayed in Room 71 and even had a view of the Mountains. If this hotel ever did do a complete overhaul I have a feeling it would not be the bargain that we got it I travel a bunch and have stayed at quite a few hotels in my time...I liked this place...Heck, even the Ritz in Orlando didn't give you ANYTHING free for breakfast...not even a donut.
