40.00 a night is what you get, dirty, smelly the aircondition needs a good cleaning, wall paper peeling in bathroom. Needs more then a remodel, maybe just raze it.
Didnt see any bugs that is the good news

We had a room with two queen beds, which was their interpretation for a "suite". The price for three nights was about $30 a night so no complaints there. The room was infested with ants and bathroom was untidy. Heater worked very well (it was cold outside).
We reserved several rooms 3 to be exact. Mine was absolutely terrible. The commode ran all of the time, there was mildew in the room. When I took a shower the water did not run out of the tub. I was told then would fix it the next day - they did not. There was a big stain on the bedspread. The bedspread looked like it had never been washed. I finally asked for a refund and we all went up the street to the Marriott. We had even called prior to our stay and asked if they had internet we could use and were told they did. Upon arrival we were told they did not. The front desk people appeared to live at the hotel but were still hard to get in touch with.
My girlfriend and I were very pleased with the Knight's Inn motel room. It had a jacuzzi tub, king-sized bed, and clean bathroom area. We were suprised to find that their room price was only $50 per night (most other motels in downtown Gatlinburg were at least $80 per night). The service was kind and complete - our request for extra towels was fulfilled beyond what we asked for. The only downside was an ant problem - we left a couple of apples near the mini-fridge and a bunch of ants found their way to the fruit, although I wouldn't blame the hotel for this. And it's across the street from a good restaurant and a package liquor store - what more do you need? Even though it's not a suite, I'd definitely stay there again. Note: They may not be Knight's Inn anymore; there was a trash bag taped over their sign and they answered the phone "Highland Park Inn" or something like that.
Ok my boyfriend and I were looking for a cheap hotel so we could spend our money exploring. This place was great for the money - The price was fantastic (less than 30 dollars a night). I'm not a picky person - as long as my bed sheets and the bathroom are clean I'm good. The overall look of the place is a little scary, but it never felt unsafe. The room had a slightly musty smell to it so I sprayed some perfume and that took care of the problem. The decor is old and from the 70's or 80's but it was clean. All those horror stories you read about this place are ridiculous...it isn't a 5 star hotel, but it isn't pretending to be one. This is a place to lay your head and that is it. It is clean and simple. The "breakfast" is just a box of doughnuts, so we opted to go across the street to a pancake place. If your looking for affordable...this is the place to go.
