I left my new charger at this establishment, called right back to the hotel and asked them to send it to me they went to the room and said it was not there but they would ask the person that cleans, didnt bother to call me back for 5 days and said it wasnt there. They were nothing but rude and hateful! Advise no one to leave their belongings there by mistake.

We phoned ahead while traveling to secure a quick getaway to catch the fall foliage in the beautiful Smokey Mountains. After calling Zoders and finding no vacancies the nice person there (always a good stay) recommended the Riverhouse Motor Lodge.

Check-in was a breeze; we chose a room with a king-size bed and jacuzzi . The room was modern, nice and clean. The carpet was well padded, the room warmed by a furnace and gas logs. An HD/TV was available with regular cable channels no premiums. The bed was a bit saggy in the middle but not uncomfortable. I notice light coming in from under the room door and if one stood next to the door could feel cold air on bare feet. They might want to think about winterizing before cold weather hits.

The balcony sits over the river and provides a quite setting for rejuvenation after the hustle of bustle of downtown Gatlinburg.

The next morning the electricity was out for approximately 20-30 minutes. A call to the front desk yielded no answers; they were as befuddled and in the dark literally as us.

In the mornings guest are delivered home-made doughnuts and juice or tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

All in all it was a quality, clean stay, within walking distance of everything in Gatlinburg.

We have been going to Gatlinburg since 1969, our honeymoon. We have stayed at practically every hotel/motel in Gatlinburg but when we stayed at the Riverhouse we knew we had found the best. We stay there everytime we go now. We love the balconies on the river, the homemade donuts, the friendly staff, the clean rooms, the cabin/mountain feel of the rooms, the small refrig and microwave, the comfortable beds and the great location! As a matter of fact , there isn't anything we don't like about the place. In the winter they have some rooms with wood burning fireplaces and some with gas logs. We always go for the wood burning. There's nothing like being in the mountains with a wonderful fire roaring. I highly recommend this place!

The Riverhouse Motor Lodge was established in 1971. What sets this hotel apart from other hotels in Gatlinburg (And there are many older ones here) is that the Riverhouse Motor Lodge has been maintained and is very clean. The bathrooms have been totally remodeled so they look nice and new. The rooms are large and very clean. The rooms do have a rustic feel because of the paneled walls. Just because the rooms are older, you will not find frayed carpet or junky dirty furniture. Again, very well maintained. The balconies are huge compared to most hotels and over a stream. The trees around the stream shield it from the street and the sound of the water rushing over the rocks softens the sounds of any street noise, making it almost unnoticeable. There is a microwave and small fridge in the room. There are controls to lights in the room right next to the bed. And for those like me that must have internet service, I can tell you that my AT&T air card that I use on my Mac computer gets 4 bars of strength in this location, so no problems there. It is an easy walk up to the main parkway for all the shops and such. This hotel may very well be the new favorite of my wife and I when we come to the area. We will be back! Oh, they don't accept AAA or other discounts, which might turn you off, and you will find their rates are higher than some in the area especially during "off" times, but I personally think it is still a good value when you compare the rooms/location to others in the area.
