My new husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon because of its wonderful reviews. When we made it to the hotel it was late, we did not have any trouble checking in but out room was dirty. Because it was so late the only person that was there was the night desk clerk, no one from maintenance, housekeeping, or even a manager. We had to sit for nearly 45 minutes waiting for the desk clerk to come change our sheets and clean our room. There were stains on the sheets, hair in the jacuzzi tub and urine on the floor around the toilet. I was very disappointed, it was hard to feel comfortable in the hotel. We didn't even get offered a discount for the trouble. I would never stay there again or recommend it!

Jan. 2012 two night stay at Bearskin Lodge ($75 per night) - Quick Check in - ample parking - very clean room - 2 elevators & rarely had to wait even though the hotel was sold out - 2 queen room was on creek with a fireplace - breakfast was typical of a free breakfast (waffles, biscuits, bagels, donuts, cold cereal, instant hot cereals, fresh fruit in a small room) - hotel room had 3 chairs & a table so we passed on eating in the breakfast room - front desk staff was helpful & friendly - outside fireplaces by the pool were a nice place to sit - other hotel balconies were directly across the creek - small deli/grocery across the street in front of the hotel which we found convenient - would stay there again.

This was our 2nd time staying here to bring in the New Year. Our room was very clean, the breakfast was ok (to be included with your stay ),and the front desk was very nice........I also left one of my jackets there and didn't notice that I didn't have it until I returned home..called the hotel and found out that it was turned in...they mailed to me !!

We brought the new year in with a trip to Gatlinburg and chose a great location to spend the nights when we chose the Bearskin. It is located almost adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, has queen size beds, is in a relatively quiet location yet easy walk to main strip of Gatlinburg, and staff was very accomodating. The room was fairly large with a gas fireplace that was very convenient for cold evenings. The in-room heat was a little dry but most hotels have this problem. Our room was right on a pretty mountain stream coming from the park and had a comfortable balcony to sit and watch the water rush by. The Lodge certainly enhanced our experience. They have a nice pool area with a heated pool. We did not use the pool because it was only 30 degrees outside but they had two fire pits and we took advantage of those.
