“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We stayed 3 nights in a 1 bedroom golf deluxe room. There was a spacious family room area with a couch, dining table, large flat screen television and gas fireplace, a kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher and full size refrigerator. It was nice to have a washing machine and dryer to do laundry half way into our trip to get all the sweaty trail dusty clothes clean before heading to Atlanta. I was a bit apprehensive about being located away from town, but the drive
to Gatlinburg wasn't that bad, it was actually nice being away from the crowds and traffic. It was 12 miles from Bent Creek to Gatlinburg. The speed limit is only 45 mph and if you're driving on a school day pay attention to the school speed sections of 20 mph. The police park along the road to monitor. We made the drive to Pigeon Forge to eat dinner at Bullfish. The house salad was very good and the ribeye was good. I had reviewed Cherokee Grill and said they had a salt crusted bread, it was actually Bullfish that has the salt crusted bread and it is addicting. Had lunch at Carver's Applehouse, the chicken pot pie was tasty. You get a free glass of fresh apple cider, apple butter with apple fritters with your meal all for a very reasonable price. The resort has a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi and a game room. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We asked a maintenance person if we could hose our car down from all the road dust and he took a hose and rinsed our car and was genuinely glad to it, we really appreciated how he went out of his way to help us. The Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park is virtually right across the street. I didn't get to check out the golf course, but the from the view from our patio it looked like it was in nice shape and quite a challenge. Definitely a beautiful setting being surrounded by the Nat'l Park. If we could have spent more days here we would have.
One last note: Cell phone service is hit and miss out at the resort, and wireless service is not free unless you have one of 2 service providers which I forgot who they were, check with the front desk to see who they are.

“Nice, but a few problems.”

We stayed 3 nights at the Bent Creek Golf Village Resort. Our 1-bedroom condo unit was nicely furnished and a great deal for the price. Two main problems: 1) The resort has a "voluntary non-smoking policy". This is a joke. The people in the next unit smoked inside their unit, and this was ventilated into our unit. We might as well have been smoking in our own room. Soundproofing in the walls was also somewhat lacking. Their loud TV was our loud TV. 2) On two of the three nights of our stay, there was no parking available in front of our unit, requiring us to park quite a distance away. This was very inconvenient, particularly at the time of check-in, when it was bad enough lugging our baggage up the stairs. There is supposed to be one parking space for each one-bedroom unit and two parking spaces for each two-bedroom unit, but it is obvious that there are people with more vehicles than are allotted to their unit. A simple solution would be to have the parking spaces individually numbered. The front desk turned a deaf ear to both of these issues, telling us that their hands were tied by the wishes of condo owners. Not a good enough explanation.

We booked through hotels.com and were supposed to get a $25.00 gas card when we checked out. The desk knew nothing about this, but said that other guests had made the same request. I contacted hotels.com and have gotten no response. Somebody owes us a $25.00 gas card, even though this may have nothing to do with the property itself.

“Was Poorly Treated and would not Honor a Pre-Paid Resevation!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

My family and I had been looking forward to quiet getaway from Indiana to Bent Greek Golf Resort in the Smokies for a few days. However, this quickly turned into a nightmare! I had pre-paid reservations though -------- for 4 nights. Upon arrival at Bent Creek, I attempted to check-in. The clerk asked how many were in my party and I told her 5, my wife and 3 adult kids. She said they could only register me with a maximum of 4. I asked if they had a larger condo, but they said no and that they could only offer me an additional room. However, they wanted the full list price of $119 per night, not the $77 per night --- price. I could not afford an additional $500 plus tax for 4 nights.

So I decided that I would just get a room back in Gatlinburg for 2 of the kids. However, they wanted me to make a 25 mile roundtrip back to Gatlinburg, find and reserve a room, and bring back proof of the hotel room reservation before they would allow us to check-in. At this point, I was upset and told them that was ridiculous. Admittedly, I raised my voice after becoming frustrated and also being concerned about possibly losing my prepaid reservation.

Then I remembered that my daughter's phone had internet and we could reserve a room back in Gatlinburg without having to leave. When I informed the clerk of this plan, she said never mind, we don't want any of you here. I am African American, but I'm not quick to play the race card but this seemed so blatant! I got upset again, and this time they called security. Both the female clerk and the manager were cold and indifferent to our situation.

We ruined the better part of a day of our vacation trying to get a refund. Bent Creek did not give us a refund, but we had to contact Hotwire ourselves. Hotwire said that that would give us a refund, but it would take 2 billing cycles to refund it. Thankfully, we had a little extra in our checking account, and didn't have to wait for a refund in order to go to another hotel!

“Exceptional Gateway To The Smoky Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

This is an amazing property that is a hidden gem in the SMNP area. The rooms are very well decorated and spacious. The washer and dryer were godsends given the condition of our clothes when we came off the trail. True--the resort is about 20 minutes from downtown, but who wants to be near that craziness and traffic during a hoilday weekend anyway. On the upside, it is almost across the street from the Ramsey Cascades trailhead, one of my favorite hikes in the Park. Parking was adequate and we were always close to our room. We didn't play the golf course, but it looked very well maintained and fun. The staff was friendly and fairly efficient during check-in. We are planning to return in late August and are planning a family Thanksgiving at the Resort. If I had the time, I would love to spend a week or more--particularly during the low season when rates are wonderfully low.

“will absolutley be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

This was a vacation we all enjoyed tremendously. We were close enough to the national park to take a hike. We also went white water rafting and into Gatlinburg for some of the best barbeque at Calhouns.
The room was cool and spacious with 2 TVs (thank you) so no one fought. The husband ofcourse played golf and loved the course. Staff were so friendly and helpful and opened the gym early for my husband and I. Close to the food city so we could plan meals and eat in. The scenery was breathtaking. Cell phone reception was lousy and believe it or not (as business couldn't follow me) it made our stay even better.
We look foreward to coming back.
