My husband and I booked a room at the River Terrace for a quick weekend get away (since we live an hour from their). I wanted to stay in one of the hotels along the river, but didn't want to pay a hefty price. We got a great deal and a "free upgrade" room to the River Tower, which is the one in the picture above. The room had a gas fireplace and we overlooked the river. When we checked in the guy told me those rooms run for about $20 more than we paid...so someone was feeling generous in giving it to us. Honestly, I would have paid the extra $20 for it because it was great. You can't beat the location of this hotel, as its right behind the main street in Gatlinburg (where all the shops/restaurants are), and it's right by the Ripley's Aquarium. The hotel staff was very friendly, the restaurant on the property had a really good breakfast, the rooms were clean enough. It's no 5 star hotel, but if you want to do Gatlinburg on a budget, and have decent accommodations, and be in very close proximity to the activities in town, then I highly recommend this one.
