We chose this motel, quite frankly, because of the low rates. Well, as with anything else, you get what you pay for! From the moment I walked in the 'lobby', I knew this was a bad idea. It smelled awful! There was a child in a playpen crying incessantly with spit-up all over her. When we got to our room, it was just as bad. It reeked of mold and mildew, which came from the bathroom. The walls were covered with 3 different types of carpet, yes, you read correctly, CARPET! The bedding was old and nasty and stained. I didn't even want to walk on the floor without shoes! We checked out after only one night and found a much better room elsewhere. This was, by far, the worst motel experience EVER!

This hotel from the moment we walked in was a disaster!! First to let everyone know - we prepaid all three nights ahead thinking that our hotel would be paid for and we could use the money we had to spend on our vacation!! Well we arrived and we were informed that the room we had reserved and prepaid ahead for, was given to someone else! The front office was so smelly I was sick to my stomach by the time I left! If we had stayed I would not allow my children to eat the continental breakfast that they had! It was sitting on a filthy table and it was a box of glazed donuts from Food Lion and a pot of coffee that looked old! There were flies all over the boxes and smoking in the office! Then when we told them it was wrong of them to give up our room we prepaid for, they told us that was how it was and we could get a refund! Now keep in mind, I prepaid for this room two weeks in advance! The credit card company had already given them their money - so I asked them for a refund!! Without asking how I would like the refund and knowing it would take 7-10 business days for us to see our money again, they reimbursed our card instead of cash so we could go to another hotel! We were out $180 right off the bat - then having to go to another hotel that was more than we planned - we were out another $120 right off the bat! So we lost $300 of our spending money from the getgo!! Needless to say this put a strain on our vacation - I had to borrow money from a family member to enjoy a vacation that we had not had in over 5 years!! We did see our money - BUT AFTER we had arrived back home! It didn't help us while we were there!! IT was terrible of them to do this to us!! We could not believe that they gave our room to someone after we completely paid for it ahead of time!! Then to not be nice enough to give us Cash so we could get another room and not be out the money!! These people do not deserve to be in business!! Anyone who had a good stay - you must have caught them at a time when the dog was at the vets and the actual owners were away - you got substitutes!!! It was horrific!! I can't believe that they do this to customers who are nice enough to prepay for a whole vacation ahead!!! One other thing, we drove 4 hours to Gatlinburg and had there not been boarding anywhere else, we would have been stuck without a room! Thank goodness there was a hotel available being as how this was their busy season! THINK TWICE before you take advantage of these great rates that they offer!! You will get jipped some how!!!

Ogles is a great economy choice for Gatlinburg. It is an older property but our room was clean... although a bit worn. The staff was friendly and helpful and because of the slow tourist season even upgraded us to a bit larger room for no additional charge.

The pool was nice and never seemed to be very busy. We enjoyed our stay at Ogles.

My family and I stayed there last year. (myself,husband and three kids) anyway, we did not find them rude nor the lobby smelly. THe people were very friendly and whenever the kids went swimming always told us to tell him if the water was cold and he would turn it up. Everytime we went out he would always turn the heater up for us. It was a very pleasant experience and the rates are good. We reccomend this hotel to everyone. It is not far away from anything!
