What they agree to on the phone when making reservations and what you get when arriving are two different things. Like most people, I do not like unpleasent suprises. I ended up not staying there, and after seeing the motel, was glad due to the rundown appearance and rude staff. In Gatlinburg, the best way to get around is walking, due to the traffic and limited parking. This motel is out of the way and all the main entertainment and restaurant are on the other side of town. A bargain price does not make for good vacation in this case.

We made reservations in advance and they told us they would take small pets (their advertising even states it). We were given pricing on the extra cost for our pet and a confirmation number and everything. When we arrived (driving 400 miles/about 8 hours) they said they do not take pets and said WE lied aobut it. We were very upset because we even had the name of the person who verified our information and why would we lie about it to begin with? By the way, there was a dog in the office and more in a room behind the office desk yapping It was a very busy week in Gatlinburg and being exhausted from the drive we now had to go around looking for accomodations. . Thankfully, we got a refund on our deposit, and even though we spent more on a room elsewhere, we were glad we did not stay there because OGLE's is a real dump!

First of all the room was not cheap. When I called, management said the motel was old but had been updated. The room we were in had mold and mildew growing on the walls and smelled terrible. My husband had allergies and could not breath in the room. When we told management they gave us a can of air freshener. We stayed less than an hour before we moved to hotel across the street. We were not refunded any money!!!

Definately no frills. BUT, cheap, clean and the perfect getaway for the budget traveler. The owner will even let you stay in the pool after hours. Check out the vacation packages!
