“Don't Expect Too Much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

We stayed 2 nights and this place looks really nice from the outside. Inside the room needed some maintenance and cleaning. The shower curtain rod was falling off the wall on both sides and the shower curtain had a foot of mold along the bottom. It took several requests and about 16 hrs to get a new shower curtain but the rod was never fixed. The shower curtain wouldn't stay closed so water got everywhere and probably leaked into the floor below. The maintenance guy could barely speak english and didn't seem concerned. The room was very dusty and could have used a thorough cleaning. The office staff was extremely nice and tried to do their best to help us. This place is also a LONG walk to downtown. I expected a nicer room for the price I had to pay.

“No hot water! Bugs and Dirty!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2010

Check in was quick but it seems the lady in the front desk was being bothered by my questions regarding the trolley. I stayed on the 3 floor building on room 362.
The a/c wored great a little noisy but did the work. I did not see any mold as reoported from other reviewers. However; I did see one dead bug on the corner of the room ( It looked like a small roach ) The bed linings had holes on them. It was quiet and peaceful. There was no HOT water to take a shower; it was a very cold shower. The carpet was awrful and dirty. The location is off the strip. I would not stay here again. The wi-fi worked grear

“You get what you pay for, AND THEN LESS!!! Avoid this motel at all expense!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

I spoke to the owner (after paying online and two weeks prior to trip), she was very rude and not helpful at all. Didn't seem to care one bit about anything I had to say.

When we arrived, it was 10ish P.M. She did accommodate our request. However, upon awakening the showers were VERY VERY COLD. We thought since we overslept that maybe all the hot water was gone briefly. So we showered quickly anyway and went on our way to Cades Cove and stuff in town.

Upon Arriving back at the hotel and before dinner we went swimming. The pool was clean and warm. Then we went back to the room skipped showers and went to dinner. When we arrived we went back to the room, it was late again so skipped showers. The next morning, THE SHOWERS WERE VERY COLD. At this point, NO ONE was at the hotel really, only a few others and us. So why was the water COLD? The pool was warmer than the water.

We spoke with the desk clerk upon leaving and she said we could do this and that to the handles, LOL There was only one handle I told her. She said hmmm. Then another couple who roomed above us overheard our conversation and said they had very cold water too and was very disappointed. She said wow then the hot water tank must be broken. Not even an apology. Nothing. I am glad we were leaving at that point.

Furthermore, The floors are very dirty. I walked across the floor in wet socks after getting back from White water rafting and the bottoms of my nice white socks were now BLACK with disgusting dirt and who knows what else. While sleeping you could feel the springs in the mattresses. It was two aweful nights. I left with backaches each day. So did my hubby and brother in law. The TV remote didn't change channels. And you had to hold the handle down for 30 seconds just to make sure the toilet flushed all the way down properly.

The microwave door front was dirty. But inside was clean, and refrigerator was fine and clean. The hair dryer and coffee maker was fine too. It was peaceful and quiet there away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. That was the only good part about this place besides the swimming pool.

Oh, there was one great thing about this place. The cleaning persons were NOT criminals. They had plenty opportunity to steal something and did not. I left a 800.00 laptop, money, big jar of change all silver, two cell phones, one very expensive watch, one digital camera, and two memory cards clearly laid out. They didn't touch anything. Even after making the beds they put everything exactly as I left it. To my amazement. They can't clean for crap, but they are not crooks.

BTW, breakfast was horrible. There were only a few bagels and rolls, no donuts. (I did see a krispy kreme box behind the clerk) but she wasn't sharing. There was some cereal, small containers of milk and coffee and that's it. nothing else. Not like I was told on the phone. I chose to bring food with me, and I had plenty of breakfast stuff in my room. But I thought since I was telling everyone about my stay, I would cap it off with the breakfast menu there. Avoid it.

Would I go back? Absolutely not. It was 125.00 for two nights and we never got even as much as hot water. I wouldn't leave a bad review if it was at least a decent stay. Sometimes you have to do this to get your point across to the owners that you're not gonna just forget about it.

Oh and one last note, The bill was over charged by only 50 cents. Upon reviewing my CC statement I realized the overcharge. Can I do anything about it? Nope. However, keep in mind if they do this to each and every customer, they will get rich off of over charges alone. Over time it is surely gonna happen for them.

I hoped this all helped.

P.S. The Wi-Fi Worked Great!!! :)

“It worked for us”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

Depending on your purpose of staying - if you are basing there to explore Gatlinburg- you are several blocks off the Main Parkway. Easy trip down- Hill back up- but do able. Trolley does go that way.
Rooms were very nice
Booked there because of the Lazy River. It was small which was ok but they did not provide any tubes for the river. Pool closed at 10 p.m.
Breakfast was a poor selection
