A swanky resort the Super 8 is not, but if you need a bed, a shower and a quick bite to eat on your way out the door in the morning, this place will suffice at a rate about half of other places in town that are frankly not that superior.

Sure, I had to replace the batteries in my TV remote and the breakfast isn't exactly robust, but the bed worked fine, the rooms were as clean as I could hope for, and everything in the bathroom worked.

This is a great choice for the budget traveler.

And come on, who doesn't bring shampoo when the travel?

Having read the review from the family from Chanhasen, I guess I would expect that from someone used to a "high Maintenance" neighborhood.

Now from a more mid-range couple that travel on a budjet.

We had no problem with the fornt door, the lobby did not smell of cigarettes, nor did any other place in the motel. We found the service staff friendly, the front desk person very knowledgable with the surrounding area and the rooms clean and comfortable. We even had the thrill of seeing a wolf come out of the forest beside the motel right outside our room.

We stayed there for a total of 4 nights and have already booked our room for this year. It is the perfect "base camp" for the fall color explosion of Northern Minnesota.

If you are looking for the fancy hotel with all they have to offer and are willing to spend a couple of hundred per night, then by all means do it. However, if you are looking for a good room at a fair price. This motel is for you.

When you first TRY to walk into this motel the door is jammed. When you finally get it open, and walk into the hallway, You SHOULDN'T be surprised to notice that the hallways smelled like cigarettes. When you got into your room (to get away from the lung cancer hallway, you will notice there is only 1 packet of shampoo for 4 people (what a joke hahahaha that wasn't funny!!!!!!. If you hate to swim, you're in luck there is NO pool in the super 8 motel, but there is a very nice hot tub and deck.
