The room is small and difficult to walk around the beds to the bathroom. The sheets are not able to be tucked in as they are too small. The faucet and spout of the tub were highly movable because there was a large rectangle cut into the wallboard, making the whole plumbing questionable. The office staff 'knew nothing' about it. Worst of all were the bugs: Ants: hundreds of them. 1st night of 3 we found some in the bathroom and on the counter. That night I found them in my bed, in my book on the bedside table and found multiple bites on my body. Then while lying on my pillow, I found a small black bug crawling in my hair, not a bed bug because I am unfortunately well acquainted with them from Toronto experiences. By the 2nd night we found likely a couple of hundred ants everywhere - in suitcases, in clothing, in books, even in the fridge. I found more small black bugs then 2nd night. The night after we left this establishment, I took a bath, checking to see if any bugs were in the water prior to entering. After I left the tub, there were 4 bugs from my body. Since we had washed all my clothes I could only associate these bugs and the bites, now over 20 of them to the bedding. The next night we stayed at another Americas Best Value Inn in Tropic and it was MUCH better. (They were distressed about the possibilities of bugs and promised to check the room after we left). When I informed the Page front desk, all I heard was a squeal and no response as to what would be done. Costs for the last 2 nights more than doubled for the weekend - definitely NOT worth the price!! Then there was the free breakfasts. Canned fruit. The bagels were skimpy and doughy! The doughnuts were stale. The fruit juice was packaged crystals by taste. The margarine was in a squeeze bottle, as were the jams. Not enough hot water for tea and the coffee was cold on at least 1of the mornings. The office staff did not know how to make bookings for the local excursions that they advertised. Outside light was visible around the whole outline of the doorway at night - I had to get up to check it was truly closed and locked. The room fridge had no freezer and the front desk had no solutions when we needed a freezer. The newly packaged soap was old and didn't lather - like a plastic disk instead. WIFI worked some of the time. The best part of the Inn is the location - it is convenient to many of the excursions and amenities. That was the only plus left. Pls avoid this place if you can.
Room Tip: No pool, no laundry facilities and the local laundromats only open from 7 am til 8 pm.
