We stopped in Page when it got too late for us to drive on to Lake Powell and set up a camp site. A smiling and affable young man was at the front desk. There were no more ground floor rooms available and he thoughtfully gave us a room on the second floor at the top of the stairs, which was handy as we had gear to unload and we could drive right up to the base of the stairs. The room turned out to be spacious. It was cheap in the way that budget motels are but it was also very clean and kept up well, distinguishing it from most other budget motels. Clearly the owners care about this property. We had no complaints.
The room was genuinely non-smoking and everything (lights, tv, coffeemaker, A/C, plumbing, etc.) was in good working condition. The carpet was a little lumpy towards the bathroom but it was clean as was the bathroom which was fairly large and had a small sliding window (always appreciated). We had 2 queen beds and one considerably harder than the other; in fact both were too hard for me but I like a soft bed. No bedbugs - I always check. There was a bit of street noise in the evening as the motel is on a busy corner but since we sleep with earplugs it didn't bother us. Clean, cold mini-fridge, plenty of closet space. The room had south-facing windows and stayed dark enough for us to sleep late. Typical continental breakfast and ice machine. We didn't use the pool or any of the other amenities.
Prior to coming here we had stopped at the Super 8 and Travelodge which were overpriced even for walk-in rates. Our room here was 1/3 less than either of the other two motels. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by this Rodeway Inn and will gladly return when our travels bring us back to Page.
