Great staff, great location, great hotel. Considering the ridiculous prices in New York, you can't beat this hotel. The neighborhood is safe.

we stayed with my wife at a business trip. good price of 4-nights package (available only at BW website, somehow surprisingly not at the tripadvisor partners ones) for insanely overpriced NYC. great location as mentioned by the other reviewers - just two minutes slow walk to R-metro station. very helpful and friendly staff at the reception, quiet nice sleep. however, the overall impression was spoiled by the behaviour of the ladies responsible for breakfast - they did not replenish the food (hotel was very crowdy in our days) and when asked, did it only with bitter face. however, they closed the buffet always half an hour earlier then advertised (i.e., around 9:30 instead of 10:00)...
other than this, our experience was perfect given the price.
Stayed here while visiting family in Bay Ridge. Good neighborhood. The staff are very polite. The room was very clean. Complimentary breakfast in the morning. A little pricey for Brooklyn, though.
Great location if you need this area which was a priority for us. Not worth the higher price I paid since it was Easter weekend.
Check in was a struggle as I booked through hotels.com and they couldn't find it. Only after I presented my confirmation printout (that was paid in full) did they find it. Staff was friendly and helpful... good thing since they had some trouble with the reservation.
The room was decent size for 2 with double beds cigarette burns on the sink in the small bathroom. First night slept fine since I was exhausted. 2nd night was a looooong loud, uncomfortable toss & turn. Beds are NOT comfortable & it is close to the subway so alot of rumbling even with earplugs. Not to mention the floors above creek and thump from any walking around. Seems I always get the room below folks who are stomping around ALL NIGHT LONG.
Walking around the hotel there are alot of eyesores that could be repaired but that didn't bother my stay. All it would take is a remodel and some cozy beds and they would be right on target.
Had to stay in Brooklyn for a wedding.....booked this hotel thinking it would probably the nicest one around in that area(although there arent too many choices anyway)
To start off with the receptionist was Rude! Anything I asked her about I got a snotty response.....
The room and hallway smelled disgusting, mostly like very old cigarette smoke. I booked a non-smoking room but they gave me smoking anyway and when i complained they told me they had no rooms left.
The room was small and dirty looking. Also, it looked like it hadnt been renovated since it opened. The shower didnt work. There were stains all over the rug. I actually slept with the lights on because I was petrified that roaches were going to be crawling all over the place. I actually wanted to check out at 1:30 in the morning and drive back to NJ...
I WOULD NEVER STAY THERE EVER AGAIN!!!!!!
