“Clean and safe, but far from anything interesting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I stayed here for 1 night and the room was OK. All equipment worked well and bed/bath linen was in good condition. I was rather disappointed that the front desk agent refused to provide me a discount, given that I walked in/checked in at 2 am (no prior booking) and was leaving at 10 am. In hotel business slang it is called a day-use, and should be given at a discounted rate, but I was told it was not the case. I saw a bus station from my window, but on overall I would say that you should not bother getting here unless you have a car.

“Ghetto!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

The hotel room is alright enough. Seems clean, although it's a bit dark. It is what it is, discount motel room. The location though? Horrible. What the other reviews don't say is that this motel is situated right in the middle of the ghetto. There is absolutely nothing in the area to do, or even look at besides grafitti and boarded up buildings, broken down cars, etc. Not happy at all, considering the closest area of interest costs 25 dollars in cab fare to get to. Counter staff is also rude. Here's to hoping we don't get shot before our trip is over!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing Quality Inn Brooklyn for your recent stay in our area. I am glad that you liked your room, however I am sorry that you didn’t feel comfortable with the location.

Upon receipt of your review, the following actions were taken:

• Counter staff received additional training in the courteous manner in which you, our valued guest, are to be treated.

• Management and security staff were approached about ways in which our valued guests could be made to feel more secure in the area.

• Management was approached about the cost of cab fare to get to what you referred to as the nearest area of interest and it was suggested that they might want to look into the possibility of a cab discount for our valued guests or the possibility of setting up some sort of shuttle or bus system.

I hope that the next time you visit our area, you will once again choose to stay at Quality Inn Brooklyn. I think you will be greatly pleased.

Sincerely.

“Terrible breakfast service and Internet”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Yesterday I got the most terrible experiance in my 48years life at this hotel. Arrived breakfast at 8:45 and there was no bread left. An angry (not friendly) kitchen operator told med to eat what they had. There were no eggs or no other hot food available either. Everything was empty and no excuse for it either. Kitchen operator must be trained in customer behavior or replaced immediately. I would never visit this Quality Inn hotell again due to her. - Internet ws not working either this weekend which I had paid for. Terrible noise outside the window, too.
Good Thing was that all people in Reception was very helpful and nice as well as those cleaning the room which I gave some dollars in tips.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the backyard. They are more quiet.

“For those with a sense of adventure, a wonderful place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Usually, the Quality Inn franchise provide fairly bland, run of the mill budget/business hotels, with nary a character between them. Quality Inn Brooklyn is not one of these. Firstly, all of the reviews mention the proximity to the tracks. Well yeah, but it's the defining sound of New York. I don't know about others, but silence is not something I wish whilst travelling. If it is, don't go here, simple. If you like hotels with no facilities but a hell of a lot of character, something unique and surprisingly comfortable, have no qualms about booking. Perfectly in keeping with the artistic temperament of Brooklyn. And a final word for the woman who serves breakfast, one of the nicest people I have happened to meet working in a hotel. One word of caution, or advice, this is a popular hotel for, erm, getting intimate.

Room Tip: Go for the highest room possible.

“Not bad if you are on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

I am a born Brooklyn person so here is my take on this hotel. Keep in mind I have moved to MD to stay 11 years. Yes, this is in a really deserted area for a hotel but for the price I guess you should read the reviews before you book this hotel. I personally liked the hotel. I only needed it for sleeping so the noise of the train after about 2 trains did not bother me. Reading the reviews would have told a person that there was a train very close by. As far as the hotel it is clean and I did not see anyone hanging out by the hotel at ALL. So read my fellow people before you book.

Room Tip: If you are a lite sleeper do not book this hotel there is the J train that runs outdoors.
