The hotel is located in an industrial area. There are a few residential buildings, but not much goes on after 6:00 pm. The parking sucks!!! There are 16 narrow spaces for the entire hotel. The spaces are reserved on a first come first serve basis with a fee of $24 per day. What do you expect? Your in New York! There is limited street parking available around the hotel, but be sure to READ THE SIGNS! We parked 1 block down the street and our truck was just fine overnight. The street was well lit. There were other hotel guest cars parked safely all around.
The hotel lobby was compact, but it served its purpose. The complimentary continental breakfast area overlooks the lobby area. The breakfast was a little heavier than most. Coffee, tea and cookies are available all throughout the day.
The hotel is either fairly new or recently renovated. The rooms were tiny, but just what we needed for the night. The room was tidy and clean. Clean bedding, clean linen and the bathroom was spotless. The wireless speed was great.
I was accompanied by my husband and young son. I don't think that I would have been too comfortable as a woman by myself in the area after dark. The location is great, you are walking distance from public transportation. The best way to do sightseeing is the train. Parking is ridicously expensive in Manhattan and you will have to circle the block in Brooklyn searching for street parking. Be smart, save money and take the train
Great room for the price, location, safety and most importantly; cleanliness. I hope this helps.
