I am not used to hotels n the middle of what appears to be a industrial park. But the location is good because it is s close to s many good restaurants and Prospect Park

Everyone was great!!! Very attentive!! The beds were so comfy. The room was spotless! Loved the hotel!!! Would definitely stay there again!!!

We were taking a cruise from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and picked this hotel because of the rates and location not too far from Red Hook. The area was not the best for walking at night so we took a cab after supper and shopping at Macy's but otherwise security at the hotel seemed adequate. Room size for New York seemed spacious but the fan was so noisy we had to turn it off for sleeping and the thermostat didn't work at all. Staff were helpful and the hot breakfat was quite good. But I don't think we would stay here again as the rate for this location seemed pretty steep.

I love New York and have had the pleasure of staying in some of the nicest hotels I've stayed in in the world.
The Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn Downtown delivered the poorest experience and the lowest value yet. The area is very commercial and has a number of large housing tower blocks nearby. As well as the excessive litter & graffiti, the broken pavements and abandoned cars create a very intimidating environment after dusk. I was approached by a number of ladies offering their "personal services" literally 30 yards from the hotel at 9.30 pm !! The reception area is unwelcoming as well as tatty and in places (i.e. the furniture) dirty. The breakfast isn't fit for a dog and the tables in the dining area weren't clean, although you could see where the lady had smeared around the dirt with her filthy cloth. New York hotel rooms are usually small but this hotel took it to a new level. The aircon worked very well but was so loud you couldn't watch tv or talk on the phone while it was on. The TV only had the bog standard channels - very limited viewing. The paper thin walls and the aggressively sprung doors meant the people noise and slamming doors was almost constant. Good points - the shower was good, the bed was comfortable and the WiFi worked well. All in all dreadful. If you want to stay in Brooklyn head for Park Slope of Brooklyn Heights. Avoid this hotel like the plague !!
