“A Room Without a View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I agree with all the positive remarks about this hotel but there is one bit of advice:
If you want a quiet, early morning sleep, ask for a front-facing room! A large U-Haul facility is directly in the back of the hotel. That business starts very early! like...5 AM. Voices and radios carry right to the rooms.
This is only an issue if you want to sleep in.
Obviously this view is not great unless you are traveling with a 5 year old boy! Trucks are also fascinating, eh?

Room Tip: The pastries with the complimentary breakfast were very good!

“Great value in a distinctive hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel two nights on jan 25 and jan 26 during a business trip to brooklyn.

Though it was positively recommended by a couple of co workers that previously stayed there I was still pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, the well appointed and, yes, blue, rooms, and the value especially when compared to the cost of a manhattan location.

Hotel is in an uninspiring area, but it is a short and safe walk to multiple interesting places to eat and also the subway to take you into manhattan (though I didn't go) or elsewhere in brooklyn. Hotel gives you a free contintental breakfast delivered to your room.

Though I was there for business, I think this would be a perfect location for exploring on a pleasure trip. I didn't notice much parking on site but I'm thinking in brooklyn in all events it's better to leave the driving to someone else.

I will come back on my next business trip, and hopefully by that time the hotel restaurant will be open after its renovations!

“Lovely, modern, clean and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Lovely hotel, staff were really helpful. Really modern hotel, everything you could need...ipod dock, plasma tv, minibar etc. We received complimentary breakfast (bagels, croissant etc) in the room every morning. Short walk to the subway 20mins to Manhatten, short walk to lovely restaurants and bars although if you don't know the area it doesn't look immediately that lively... go across to 5th avenue! Would definitely recommend to everyone looking for competitive priced accommodation but don't want to compromise on style/comfort.

“Buyer beware! These people are low class theives”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Nice hotel run by a pack of thieves. When you reserve a room online, you are naturally permitted to use a debit card with a a major credit card symbol on it...you know, like you would anywhere. Naturally they charge you the price of the room as your reservation date approaches. When you check in, however, they tell you that you can't use THE SAME CARD THEY CHARGED FOR YOUR ROOM to be used as your "security payment" (ie for the honor bar, room damages, etc). They then say since it's within 48 hours of your reserved date, THEY WON'T REFUND YOUR MONEY. After kissing enough butt, I managed to convince them to let me stay for the room I already paid for, but only after they put a 250 dollar hold on my Credit Card endorsed debit card. They treated me like a classless idiot, claiming I was stupid for not understanding the policy which isn't clearly defined or appropriately placed. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

Dear Guest -

We understand your frustration about our current debit card policy however when taking a reservation over the phone or internet, there is no possible method to decipher the difference between a credit card number and a debit card number. They both read the same and we use it as a "hold" for the reservation and outline via multiple stages thru the booking process that a valid credit card will be required upon check-in for incidentals. You can always pay for your completed stay with a debit card or cash, however our current policy is strictly focused around incidentals during the check-in process only. This is similar to rental car policies. It is not our intention to make you feel uncomfortable at all and apologize if you felt that way.

If our team failed to make that clear on the phone, then we do apologize and we will be reviewing with our front desk team. Our online booking website and booking channel clearly defines this policy before committing to the booking at each stage in the process. We are also re-examining the policy as a whole for possible adjustments. Safe travels.

“Charming hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The Hotel Le Bleu in Brooklyn is charming and a good value. The staff are personable and helpful. The room was like new with stylish accommodations. I didn't venture out into the neighborhood so can't comment on the immediate locale. The hotel restaurant is being renovated so an on-site restaurant was not available. Room service for breakfast was a pleasant amenity.

Thank your for your glowing feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the FREE breakfast amenities and the room decor. Hopefully next time you will be able to venture into the great neighborhood to take in some of that Park Slope charm. There are amazing restaurants and shops within a few a blocks from the hotel.

Our rates are reflective of the busy season in NY as a whole but our rates are always 20-40% lower than Manhattan for similar properties and you can be in the city in less than 20 minutes! See you soon and make sure to book directly with the hotel for the lowest rates guaranteed.
