“HIGHLY RECOMMEND”

RUGBY GARDENS is a wonderful bed and breakfast. The house is a beautiful well maintained Victorian that is situated on a quiet tree lined street. It is within walking distance to high end shops and restaurants. The hosts are extremely helpful and offer a delicious breakfast for their guests. The bedrooms are on the third floor and offer privacy and a sense of cozy comfort. The rooms were clean. Plenty of hot water for a pleasurable shower. The house has an extensive art collection worth exploring. We highly recommend a stay here!

“About Rugby Gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

The location is great--very close to the subway and a bunch of good places to eat. The house itself is a great older place, maintained like new. Sue and Michael were great hosts, and we had a good time; easy coming and going, comfortable beds...the whole package. We recommend it strongly.

Rugby Gardens is close to my son's apartment in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. The location is great--close to Cortelyou Rd, close to the subway, in a lovely neighborhood. Sue makes her guests feel at home and serves a magnificent breakfast. I'll be back!

“Unlike any other!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

I stayed at Rugby Gardens while on business. Because I travel quite a bit, I decided to try a different experience, and that it was. Convenient and part of an interesting community, I enjoyed my walk each morning to the train station. I was there as the weather transitioned from jacket to coat and I will say that my third floor room would have been very cool had it not been for the electric heater. The shared bathroom, while small, proved to not be challenging between the guests. Sue's "shoes off" policy was somewhat inconvenient but I adapted.

Room Tip: Neither of the rooms I was in had enough electrical outlets for my gadgets.

“Charming and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

It was a pleasure to arrive at Rugby Gardens after a long flight, to be greeted by Sue and her daughter. We instantly felt like we were staying with family. The home is charming, clean and comfortable and is situated on a quiet residential street, just a couple of blocks from great local restaurants, shops and the subway to Manhattan. Sue and Michael were extremely resourceful in helping with directions and tips, so we were able to make the most of a very short stay. I highly recommend this wonderful B&B as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of downtown Manhattan.
