the hallway smelled, the bedroom smelled like smoke, the walls are thin and i could hear everything next door and in the hallway, the vending machine was broken, the room was old, and the continental breakfast was aweful. My most terrible hotel experience ever, not to mention i paid $145 a night for it! Do yourself a favos, take my word and find another place to stay.

I'm a single Mom and wanted to take my son to see New York. We stayed here and it wasn't all that bad. I wasn't looking for a deluxe place to stay, just a place to sleep get up and go to NYC. We stayed a few nights and had no bad experience. I kind of had a wierd smell though not really bad kind of like moth balls. It saved me lots of money since I was on vacation I had more time that money. We even walked around at night and felt safe. We walked to our room at night from the Sheepshead Bay subway station about 1/2 hour walk.
My son was 11 at the time of our trip. I'd go there again.

On checking in on 30th November we were immediately shocked that the desk staff said nothing to a person, we assume was a resident, shouting and screaming abuse in the lobby. The first and second nights stay were interrupted by doors slamming, groups of men hanging around the first floor corridor and people with heavy Russian accents running up and down the corridors. The third night things came to a head with a hooker in the next room to us and a never ending stream of 'visitors' from early evening to 6.30 the following morning. The noise was unbearable [her screaming and the bed head banging loudly against our wall] We found the experience both intimidating and stressful to say the least. We left the next morning. This is no way the family hotel it is advertised to be - W would have been horrified if we had had children with us

We were a little hesitant to stay here after reading the previous reviews, but those were not true. It was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was very helpful. As we were checking-in, there was a wedding party arriving. It was quite nice. Sure, there were a lot of colorful characters there (people with tattoes, guys dressed as video gangsters and some seedy looking girls), but hey, what do you expect from a motor inn in Brooklyn? Altogether, the time was good, the room was spotless, and yes, they do have an ice machine that works! The only thing I can complain about are some random, ambiguous sounds coming from the other rooms in the middle of the night. We had a great time. It's a good place to stay if you're into people-watching for this place offers a variety of colorful personalities.
