I arrived at the Days Inn Brooklyn at around 1am after a long flight from LA. I was quickly and efficiently checked in and given a nice room on the top floor. I was travelling with two large suitcases, so was greatful for the lift and ample space in the room.
The TV, coffee machine and small bar fridge where all new and worked well. The sheets and towels were clean and changed daily and soap, shampoo and lotion provided. In the room I stayed, the shower/tub faucet was one of the newer ones where, once you have the water running, you have to pull down on the circle where the water comes out of to get it to change from tub to shower. I had never seen this before in the many hotels I've stayed and had to get housekeeping to show me how to work it (something others have since told me they struggled with also)!
The location was fantastic, only a few short blocks from the subway. I didn't spend a lot of time exploring the immediate area, but it always seemed safe no matter what time of day or night. The hotel wasn't really surrounded by much else (restaurants, shops, etc), but these were all just a short subway ride away. There was only limited parking out front, though this wasn't a problem for me.
The complimentary breakfast was simple but adequate. The front desk staff were helpful with directions and arranged for a car to take me to the airport on my departure.
