If you don't want to pay Manhattan prices, this hotel is a great choice. The prices are reasonable by New York standards. The rooms are new and clean. So the rooms are small with a double bed taking up most of the space- welcome to New York. Parking is so difficult to find in Prospect Park that getting one of the parking spaces in front of the hotel makes it a bargain. If one of those parking spaces isn't available, park under the expressway in the next block. Breakfast is free and is no better and no worse than 90% of the free breakfasts at hotels in the United States. The only disadvantage is that it is slightly out of the way and a good 7 or 8 block walk to the nearest subway station walking towards Prospect Park. Prospect Park is a yuppie neighborhood, but this area is on the periphery of gentrification. Walking towards Prospect Park feels safe to walk in the daytime, I preferred driving or a car service at night. The staff were Gujaratis, but all spoke good English. Like most hotel staff they are friendlier and more helpful if you make a little conversation. If you use a car service to get around, it helps if you speak a little Spanish, but they will get you where you want to go even if you don't speak Spanish.
