This hotel is a great choice whether you have business in Manhattan or you are visiting NYC. Much more fairly priced than anything in Manhattan, and very convenient to public transit. I arrived there from the village in about 15 minutes on the F train (also convenient to the 2 and other numbers ) and we caught the A to JFK airport, which is about 40 min. away.
The hotel is very clean and it has a minimalist aesthetic. The rooms are reasonably large, for a NYC hotel, and they are very clean and airy. I liked the "feel" of this hotel, contemporary but welcoming.
The quality of the room and the bed were very good. Special mention to the boutique luxury bath products- they smell amazing! The room was very complete, with a safe, closet, drawers, anything you could want , really. Giant television with cable access. Towels were a bit thin. The bathroom has this one wall that is painted like chalkboard and they leave you chalk and an eraser which is really cute. My only complaint about this hotel is that the heating/cooling system in our room was really very loud. It buzzes periodically throughout the night.
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Katherine the bartender is very welcoming and will take care of you. We had a little emergency and needed a later checkout and they were super nice about it. The hotel has a little bar which is open til midnight with a great happy hour deal. This is a very nice place to hang out, the music is not too loud, and the space is very comfortable and relaxing!
The gym in this hotel is one of the best hotel gyms I've ever seen!! It is really great, all new equipment, towels, water, punching bag (!) with boxing gloves, large set of free weights, clean, cool, and contemporary. Highly recommended!
The breakfast looked pretty good but they did not have enough space to accommodate everyone that was downstairs, so we chose to go out to breakfast elsewhere.
