This place is the pits ... no ifs, ands or buts about it. Stay away!

Having just driven into Fairbanks without reservations and checking out more than half the places in town, we found that stuff is just hugely expensive, so in the end we were actually grateful that we found this place.

Unlike other reviews, once you get past the price, it was, with one exception, pretty nice. The room was big and very clean. It might have been big because it was a "suite" (actually it was just a big room with two queen beds). We were stuck with that because that was all that was left.

Really just a pretty decent motel.

The exception was the guest laundry. After 2 weeks on the road, we wanted to do the laundry. Us and everybody else. Except that of the two washing machines only one was working. Several people sat in the laundry room for hours on end to get their clothes done. The front desk was aware of it, but it sounded like it was something that wasn't going to quickly get fixed. There were two dryers but only one of them was working... and not well. It took FOREVER to get anything dry which prolonged the unfortunate waits that everybody was having.

Spent 2 days here on trip to Arctic Circle and then returned. While not inexpensive it is reasonable in Alaskan terms. Breakfast is rather skimpy but next door to Denny's. Close to Pioneer Park and attractions.

I booked this place way too early (2 mon ahead) for my trip to Fairbanks. It was my mistake to go with the cheapest hotel but still, the rate was over $117/night. What a dump. My bathroom smelled like urine so had to ask them to clean it again. I think it was the floor was smelly as the tub and sink looked clean. And had to ask her to spray the carpet so it wouldn't smell so bad. But the cleaning lady who was also the shuttle driver at night was very nice. The front desk guy was just ok. Please spend the extra $20 to stay at a different place.
