I called the hotel, asked about late check in and rates, was told to book online for best rate. I made a special request in the field available:" Arriving late, leaving Anchorage around midnight". It is a 360 mile trip, 6 hours with clear roads, something every self respecting Alaskan knows. We hit a snow storm and arrived at 8am instead of 6am, exhausted we tried to check in only to be told that Anne Marie had sold our room at 3am, the room I had booked and paid for for 2 days. No available rooms for us and to top it off when the manager arrived to talk with us, he smelled of alcohol and was intoxicated at 845am. Oh and they charged my credit card for the stay, fighting with them as I write.

The Comfort Inn is an aweful place to stay. The rooms are cleaned half way. I found out the top comforter and the brown blanket are not washed after every different persons stay. The pillow cases were thread bare, you could see through them. Towels and sheets had stains. Pillows were old and damaged. The comforters even had burn holes and giant bleach stains on them. Overall you could tell it was cheap, tasteless, and not good quality. The cleanest part of the hotel was the breakfast area, but the gravy was disgusting. The owners were rude and yelled at their employees in Korean. The hot tub doesnt work and the floor to the pool is brown. I even saw the owner forcing employees to was the outside windows in -40 degree weather. Weekday frontdesk staff was rude and inconsiderate. I would never advise anyone to stay there.

My fiance and I have just moved to Fairbanks and need to stay for the week. I had heard some not so nice things about this location and i mentioned that when i called to make the reservation. I was told that the hotel was under completely NEW management and that the hotel had entirely new staff in all departments. I loved that the hotel was not in a very busy area--it was nice and quiet on it's own little road. The woman at the front desk was quite friendly and offered some useful tips for acclimating to -20 degrees!! We really enjoyed the waffles and biscuits at the morning breakfast and they even offered us a weekly rate! it was an affordable restful stay. I couldn't complain about anything. Thank you Chena River Comfort Inn!

Well I was driving for a week from Seattle to Fairbanks to move here I was so tired of all the places I had to stay throughout all of Canada( they were not good). Reading many reviews of the Cormfort Inn, my expectations were very low. I walked inn and a very kind front desk clerk checked me in. I wasn't expecting that great of a room but sure enough I got a cleaner one than most of the ones on my trip over. I got clean sheets and the towels almost seemed new. After a peaceful nights rest I felt as though things couldn't have gotten better but of course I got a great breakfast. I checked out satisfactory. I did believe that it could have been better and maybe the staff kinder but overall I felt as though my stay was pretty great.
